You should talk to p7p8 (too bad this board has no tag function).
He actively plays MP and has a group, as far as I know.
Besides that, he's probably one of the most skilled and knowledgeable DW players around.

DWLD
(Dangerous Waters Link Data) - this is discord channel where we meet for DW session almost every day. My Time zone is CEST so this is very close to Lithuanian time.

My friends from polish group usually starts DW game around 20:00 - 21:00 CEST.

We play via Directplay only.
DW with RA 1.41 + all patches.

My nick is Pepe

Here is topic An active DW multiplayer community in 2016! with link to the same DWLD channel.

A little confusion on that other thread you linked.

One post said Tunngle is NOT required. If this is true, I assuming you still need Discord app and account?

Is this the only way to play MP in this game?

I just checked out the mp interface in the game and it shows DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service Provider

Seems like you can just play thru the game without any need for another app via directplay. all you seem to need is the Hosts ip address.

Please read again my post. :)

For hosting via DirectPlay you need external IP. (Almost all the time minimum 1-2 players from my community have it.)
Other way for organize MP session is Tunngle (you don't need external IP) but it is "third" program for showing you commercials. Also i had 2 times serious problems with uninstallation Tunngle.

Other "virtual LAN/ext IP" programs like Hamachi, Evolve often causes problems with connections (especially Hamachi). Some peoples have it - some others not.
We decide to play without "third" programs because it is easiest way for checking internet connection settings.

Discord is only for communication:
- voice channels during game
- chat before/after game

It is useful to arrange a meeting because DW players are from different Time Zones.

Welcome aboard red2112. More players = more fun.
I hope we will play MP DW session very soon.

Requirements:
RA 1.42 + Oscar_fix + Database_NB_fix (ask on discord)

BTW: DWLD is not my own discord group :D
It is just place for wordwide community DW players.
Another one is FPSchazly's channel (mostly for american players) but DW is not main game there.
We play sometimes with people from both channels. Bigger games are at weekend.

Again, thanks p7p8 and see ya soon in shallow waters (MP).
