OMG! This game was awesome . . . right up there with Dragon Warrior. No wonder why I ended up the way I did :smug:

A buddy of mine's NES was worn out, probably, from both of us taking turns on that game.

GEE, i can remember playing sub hunt on the intellivision, or that standup coin op in the late 70's that had the periscope and had to look thru it to fire the torpedos at the passing ships, lol

Good gameplaywith that one. Not much for eye candy, but a lot of fun as it started to get away from the arcade style games.

I hope they release it on Virtual Console on the Wii.

I still have that game with my NES (with box and book). I'll never get rid of it. I remember SS well. When I didn't have a computer for Command: Aces of the Deep at the time, I started up Silent Service and played it quite a bit. :rock:

Great memories, great game. I also first played it on the Atari 800xl :rock:

The good old days! It was a game way ahead of it's time and the graphics were pretty good for the period too. I remember the overlay for the keyboard! Wow, lot's of hours spent playing Silent Service, the original.

I believe this was my second. Gato was the first.:up:
