Alien: Covenant

Ridley Scott seems to be doing it again first it was Prometheus 2 now its moved on too some sort of zombie alien end of the world as it seems to stand at the moment.

Has Ridley's cheese fallen off the cracker only time will tell. :hmmm:

Ridley Scott, 78, told Empire Magazine last year that the film will 'connect' the strands between the Prometheus trilogy and the character of Ellen Ripley, who served as the protagonist in the Alien series

Sounds quite promising....:yep:

Skybird 05-21-16 05:30 PM

Does it? Already Prometheus was very lame, barely covered by foul excuses.

I like many of Scott's movies, some are amongst my all time stars - but he also shot some hilariously lousy movies as well.

I only hope Blade Runner 2 will never become reality. Ruining that heritage as well I would not forgive him. Sometimes great things of the past better should be left alone instead of trying to repeat them, no matter the cost. Prometheus already was a warning.

I must admit I am worried this may turn out to be visually a good looking film but the storyline all over the place and confusing.

I agree with Skybird, please Ridley do not do Blade Runner 2.

Yep.
I'm not that affraid it wil go into Michael Bay teritory, writing some shell of a story around explosions, but it will go into artsy fartsy deep meaning of origin of life and our place in the void, M. Shaylaman level of confusing the audience and then responding by [use heavy arristocratic voice] ''you peasants do not understand my deep meaning and the art of cinematography''

I, for one, am excited for this.

There's also a plan in the works for a Neil Blomkamp Alien film so I've heard.

Supposed to undo Alien 3 and Rez? :hmmm:

There's also a rumour that the first trailer might be released in the following few days (it has been rated already).

I have to say i rather liked the idea of the story that completely altered the timeline... the one where Ripley, Hicks, Bishop and Newt aboard the Solaco successfully return to Earth, the entire events of Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection being Ripley's nightmares while in cryostasis and Ripley and Hicks are again called upon to confront the Alien.

the very best addition to the Alien franchise in my opinion was the story line of the video game Alien Isolation

Amada Ripley (daughter of Ellen Ripley) grows to a young 20 something who now works for WY in the region of space where her mother went missing 15 years earlier. She is approached by a company representative who states that a salvage crew found the Nostromo's flight data recorder jettisoned onto the nearby planet LV-426 and is invited to tag along to the Space Station Sevastopol where the flight data recorder is being held. Amanda hopes it will help bring closure in coping with her mother's loss so she tags along. Upon arrival, Sevastopol Station is in ruin and the few humans which remain there have devolved into a state of social breakdown and chaos and the stations' master computer "APOLLO" has taken almost complete control. it turns out the crew of the salvage vessel that found the flight data recorder brought an Alien back with them and all hell has broken loose. its a really great storyline and an awesome game.

Alien was a great, classic piece of Sci-Fi cinema history, Aliens added a considerable number of concepts and story arcs to the series but After Alien 3, things have begun to fall apart for the saga... i hope that they don't deliver us another stinker.
