Escorts turned on each other

After a few months away from the toils of war in the Atlantic, it was time to go back into the frigid depths.

To start a new career, I went to the academy to get a few extra renown points.

I just completed the Convoy Attack, but am still hiding below as I write this entry in my log.

Being hunted by the Destroyer and the Flower Corvette, I parked my ride next to my last hit, in the hopes of not being detected (how naive).
Then a fast screw comes right on top of me and a splash is clearly heard, which prompted me to swiftly hit the '5' key.

And this is where it gets really bizarre. As I dash for safety, I hear machine guns firing and explosions above me. Naturally, I went outside to see what was going on, and what do I see? Both escorts turned on each other.

I know games have bugs, but I've never seen anything quite like this. Maybe the game switched sides for the Corvette, as it passed right over my location. I remember Panzer General II having a similar bug, where Leader Specials would get mixed up if you positioned two different units (an air unit over a land unit) on the same hex.

Just thought I'd share this.
Carry on.

What probably happened was one of the escorts dropped a D.C. And the explosion splashed the other one. In SH3, if a ship (no matter if it is a player or other county) hits another ship, they become hostile for 24 hours.

The most fun with this is early war, night surface attack A convoy and move your ship amongst the merchants. The escorts will attack you, but if one hits a merchant by accident... the other escorts will turn on it!
