IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 Mod Tools?

Anyone know where I can get a modding tool for this so I can add a few planes to it?

I don't know but you should propably head to the Flight Sim forums which is found under the 'General' headline.

Hmm, well, im sure you read the IL2 mod rules thread. We cant really discuss this here.

Schwieger 08-08-10 03:13 PM

Didn't plan on releasing mods or anything, just wanted to add a few planes for personal use.

There are no modding tools for IL2 IIRC, Oleg dosent support modding, believe you have to do it by hand.

I don't think it's allowed to talk about making mods. Either way, it's so ridiculously hard to do it one might as well wait for SoW which IIRC supports modding better.

Indeed...if you really want mods then you'll find them, but we can't link to them here or we face potential legal problems and other such fun items. If you want to talk about mods, without linking to them...then there's this thread:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=140435

But actual tools...there aren't any...Oleg discouraged modding initially...that's why it's taken so long for the scene to...pardon the pun...take off.

Though I wonder if the old mod policy should still be valid, since modding seems to be encouraged now and there are even quite a few former mods that are being included in the new patches.

Not my decision, of course.

Heresy!

I do not change it due that the mods come with a cracked .exe which is required for the mods to work, it conflicts with Subsim's policy of piracy & warez.

Ah, fair enough.

Having recently got 1946 (although not played yet) I'd thought about the possibility of mods, but was wondering what the point is in a 1946 mod thread if you can't discuss mods, how to implement them, or links? :06:

You can discuss and showcase them (screenshots/videos)
the threads purpose is show&tell nothing more.

just dont link the downloads throught here or expect tech support when mods messed up your installment.
