Saved Game Advice please
 

Using WOS mod

ran into trouble with saved game not loading ,, have been playing for over two weeks , manual saves no problems until now …

This is my first campaign and really just a learning curve … steep one

so I thought I would delete my saved games and start again

this is my problem ,,, I found the date file then CFG containing the 000000 files

I deleted most of the 00000 files however when I start SH5 the saves are still there !

how do I remover them ? ?

how do I get rid of all my saves and start again ?

You should be careful about what you delete in the savegame folders. To completly remove them together with your game options and grafic options, delete the entire SH5 folder in your documents folder.


But may I ask you why you mess with these files? I do, but I know exactly what I'm doing...:)

then realised I had not done what was advised ie to save game before starting campaign in bunker

I then tried starting from an earlier save which worked but after saving that game would not load again

at that point I became really worried about game being corrupted so thought lets just start again and delete all my saved games I was only three days into campaign so no real loss


I really hope this has worked,,,, I really don't want to do a complete reinstall

finally I notice that Uplay is still synchronising my game even though I play offline !!! don't understand that at all

A manual save must be made before starting the patrol.

You still have not made the bunker save before starting the patrol.
I usually request the mission and then do the save.
Any game play setting changes should be done before the bunker save.

Any previous save you load will make no difference without the bunker save, you would need to go back to the original automatic 1st save in base and start again.

re Auto saves ,,, did I read we should not use them ?

did I also read we should delete them as we go ?

how many saves do you guys keep ? on average ?

I always delete my auto saves, because i never use it. It’s not recommended to use them.

I can have around 10 saves for each patrol...i don’t think we are saves limited anyway.

I always thought the bunker save was for the very first career patrol. Not after that...
In the TWOS documents, i believe it’s saying so. But correct me if i’m Wrong.

A bunker save must be made before starting any mew mission/patrol.
This manual save is then used to start the new mission/patrol by over riding the automated enter base save.
