MFM3.2 displacement correction mod

From the readme:

The MFM3.2 displacement correction mod updates displacement values in iambecomelife's Merchant Fleet Mod Prerelease No. 3.2 for Silent Hunter 3. There were some ships that had incorrect 'mass' and/or 'displacement' values; for instance, the original surface displacement values for AO01A, AO02A, O01B, and O02A were 900,000 [tons].

I decided to go, one-by-one, through every ship in the MFM3.2 Data/Sea folder. For each one I checked the displacement documented in the .cfg file, then opened up the .sim file and set mass to zero and then set surfaced displacement to the same value as given in the .cfg file.

Instead of supplying all of the files contained in the MFM3.2 mod, the MFM3.2 displacement correction mod only changes the .sim files. This way the mod is much smaller, and so much more quickly downloaded. Because of this you must *first* enable iambecomelife's MFM3.2 (via JSGME) and then enable the MFM3.2 displacement correction mod.

All credit should go to iambecomelife. All I did was simply make some minor corrections to what is, by any definition, an immense and awesome mod.

Thanks for your work Albrecht.
Is it neccessary to load this mod via jsgme only in port after mission or can I do it during patrol?

THORN GREG 12-14-12 06:03 PM

Gamefront - link is closed ...? ...

But mediafire is ok. Thanks Albrecht .

Thanks jaxa! I'm not sure but, to be absolutely safe, I'd only load it when in port. Remember that you also have to be using iambecomelife's Merchant Fleet Mod Prerelease No. 3.2 for Silent Hunter 3, and have that loaded prior to this mod.

Thanks also to Sailor Steve, Josef von Posorschitz, and THORN GREG, too!

Steve, since I can't upload to our forum download area, would you mind, please, uploading this there for me? Danke!

Many thanks for the mod! It seems a must have...

Question: I use MFM 3.2 full version, but there are many users with the lite MFM version. Is the mod compatible with Lite MFM?

Best regards.

Thank you for your kind words!

Instead of assuming it's compatible (we all know what assuming does, after all) I just went ahead and downloaded iambecomelife's MFM-Lite-Beta-v4.1 and then updated all the .sim files contained there, just to make sure.

You'll find the download link here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...77&postcount=1

Quick question about installation path:

1. MFM 3.2 + MFM 3.2 displacement correction mod + TMTv2 or
2. MFM 3.2 + TMTv2 + MFM 3.2 displacement correction mod

Which is correct?

My order:

TMT and Thomsen Ships mod
MFM 3,2 disp. correction.

It seems work fine.

Hmm, in TMT thread is written, that TMT should be installed over the top of all mods :hmm2:
Don't you think that installing it before MFM disp. corrections you loose some things from TMT?
