Flags not showing on added countries vessels

Added few countries to TMO....China, Philippines, Italy, "United States" (for friendly fire) but the flags, despite being correctly placed in texture files etc do not show. What am I missing? flag nodes? Weird thing is...the Clemson DD for instance, flies the US flag or Brit flag when assigned, but assigned to the new country "United States" again, to simulate friendly fire incidents, no flag. No Thai flags on Thai vessels etc.

Did you add the new flags and flag names to the flag.dat in the Data > Library folder?
You may have to repurpose a few flags not in use.

Did everything but add to the .dat lol (first time have added nations to the sim). so that is most likely the culprit. Added to the texture files and rec manual. Example my nation "United States" which was created for simulating friendly fire incidents, US ships and planes. I assumed the American flag, renamed United States in the textures and recmanual files would do that job.

Each flag normally is labeled the same as the roster it represents..
So, American would use the American flag... Japan would use the Japan flag etc..
So your United States, would be looking for a United States labeled flag in a dat.

Ok.
So you have a Roster folder for Russia, the DefSide.cfg lists that.

WTH is this?

[SideEntry 44]
Country=EastRussia
Side=0
StartDate=19410621
EndDate=19450801

I do have Russia. lol I saw "EastRussia" and was wondering wth? Only thought is something unfinished?. Perhaps to create two representations of Russia, so some units are hostile, some units are not but to player in sim appears as just Russian? Kind of like what I did so could have friendly fire potential with the "United States"

Look at a stock DefSide.cfg once.
May as well have Mars listed!

I see where Bubblehead is going with this..

History has been replete with cases of friendly fire situations. Heck, even the Brit's did, in their fervor, to trash Bismarck, as I recall.. attacking 1 of their own ships in an air attack, that thankfully, was called off.. but not I suspect, before having the crew, of that ship, doing a shorts check after the attack... :har: :D

The "East Russia" is an incomplete idea, similar to Bubblehead1980's "friendly fire", but to have a "neutral" Russia that sails ships through Tsugari Straits and other locations, and is not attacked by Japanese vessels, but which a US submarine might automatically assume is an "enemy" vessel, and without proper identification, even attack and possibly sink, creating an international incident... or some such... lol
