Looking for a tablet - recommendations

So, working at a Suzuki/Honda dealer selling bikes. We have soooo many bikes, new and used, it's hard to keep up with everything. I was thinking it would be useful to have a tablet I could carry in a hip pouch that would connect to the wi-fi and I could browse the shop site as well as the web. That's about all I would use it for.

I know nuthing about tablets: looking for a decent size tablet (so I can see it), one I can scroll and manipulate with touch, and can browse the web at a decent speed.

I wouldn't go too cheap, they are attrocious. MH has listed probably one of the best out there, and a reasonable price too.

Ok, top of the list. Looks great, but I would get the extended warranty on this one.

Can I download books from Amazon on this one? Does it have a USB line out?

Anyone else? Especially if you own one, which kind and what do you use it for?

What do you mean by USB out?
No ITUNES required to move files on android devices.
It may act as disk on key or whatever(portable flash drive)

Please don't read only the bad reviews.

Take into consideration that people who have problems write the reviews more frequently.
Yet there is always a chance for you to become unhappy customer as well.

Iv had a Nexus 7 since July, when I picked one up in the US.
I must say that its sturdy build and nice to hold and very responsive. Extra plus is that you the newest releases of Android on the baby.

Iv tried the Samsung 7 inch as well and that feels much more slugish than the Google Nexus.

I think its possible to connect it to a USD device, but why would you?

I assume you guys have some internal software (point of sale, bike database, something like that?)

than in that case, you should consider an atom tablet. Like this one: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=200977

I personally have a surface pro ( review coming soon), it runs all the business programs (pos system, inventory client, etc). Thus,I think Intel x86 tablets with windows are arguably your best bet for business.

these tablets are also intune and active directory compliant too. Makes your IT director happy (although you probably don't have an it department LOL)

I'm owner of a lenovo thinkpad tablet 2.
Originally it comes with windows 8 /32 but you can upgrade it if you like to
Windows 8 Pro /32.

It's my first tablet. I never was interested in these kind of equipment, but I
got it as a present.

First impressions are fair. Most issues I have is with Windows 8.
That OS doesn't let me easily play the boss over my tablet.

I've removed most of the worthless MicSoft apps and installed 'old' but good
working software on top of it.

In combination with WiFi, the tablet does its job.
Connects on the fly, fair battery use and since it's not Windows 8 RT, you
can change the OS as longs as you are able to find the right drivers and
support for the latest EUFI bios.
I was unable to install Windows 7, due to missing drivers, but I'm trying to
find a workaround for it.

I'm currently using the tablet as a jukebox player. :smug:

My ultrabook can be a laptop or a tablet. I actually like it, except for win 8.:shifty:

Well, to connect it to my PC, my TV, my iPod...

I have put this on hold. I raised the point at my job and the other workers said , no, not a good idea, etc. I'm not sure if their concerns are valid, or they just don't want to see me accessing the numbers anywhere but the desk. My only concern was, it would be cumbersome to manage and not break. Plus, I would have to learn to write legibly, because typing with one hand is slow.

I may still get one at some point in the future. I was nice to read your posts and see how you use tablets.
