Ideas I had about forums

First and most important of all

I LOVE this forum.

Many years ago I was for a short time a owner of a forum-Danish.

My cousin helped me with the technical stuff.

To him I said.

I want a two part forum so to say.

The first-which will be the main, shall have some restriction in free speech-Meaning a debater are not allowed to call an opponent names or condescending words

The second in forum, who will be a sort of forum in forum, here I will allow a lot more than in main forum.
Here a person have to log-on and he or she have to be 18 years of age or older.

Said to my cousin I don't know what I shall call this forum-in-forum, the only thing I know is.

When a member click on this forum-a new page shall pop-up, with information like.
If you can't stand the heat, then do not enter
and of course fields where he or she can enter their alias and code.

Prison.
Said to my cousin

I also want a single section called prison.
The idea was if a person/member have received two warnings he or she should be put down there for 2 days first time and after a third warning - 5 days.
A 4th warning, well then - keelhauled.

Meaning a person who have been prisoned in my forums can only post new threads or post a comment to others in that section.
He or she can not, while in prison post new thread or post comments to others in the rest of the main and in-forums.
After these two or five days he or she are free.

Of course everyone else can enter/click on this prison and discuss with this forum prisoner.

Well that was the ideas I had.

Moved to appropriate location.

And what you describe sounds a lot like SubSim is now, except maybe the part about having to log on again and the age restriction.

Thank you Steve, I didn't know where to put it, so I picked our computer section.

Doesn't surprise me that you wrote - sound a lot like SubSim is now.

During my discussion I had with my cousin I said

" I'm a member of an American-international game forums called SubSim
The owner said to us during our Meeting in Holland 2005, that he want his forum to be family friendly and a person who post a response or a comment the person should imagine it is his or her mom their are talking to, ´cause you wouldn't call your mom dreadful things."
(maybe not exactly those words. I have tried to remember them)

I liked what he said and that was my wish that my Forum had the same rules.

I will however give my members a chance to ease on the steam they may have build up during debating in the main(Family friendly) forum, by giving them a chance in this forum-in-forum.

In this forum, the F-word will be allowed and other not so nice word-It will however never be allowed to use it against an opponent

But today most of my Danish and Swedish friend have some kind of FB-addiction, so any thought of creating a Danish/Swedish forum is out.
