Looking for Nuclear Submarine BLUEPRINTS (drawings, plans)

Hello! I am a new member to this forums.
For some time I've been interested in the submarine world and especially - nuclear submarines.
Also, I happen to have started and liking drawing on big scale papers with pencils. My first project was a '67 Chevrolet Impala on 8 A3 pages - about 1.6x0.4m in size.
So, now that I have introduced myself and got you on the path of what I would like to do next, I have a question.

Can someone please provide me a clear picture (at least about 1000 pixels wide) of a nuclear submarine blueprint, section drawing, plan etc.?
One like this (although it's not a nuclear sub): http://www.the-blueprints.com/bluepr...n-7d-vii-d.png

Also, it must have the side view. Other views are optional but welcome.

I simply want to draw a big picture of a nuclear submarine and have it on my wall. I won't understand most of the stuff that I am drawing, though. So it would just be an interior element, not an actual, technically correct plan.
I don't need a precise and correct blueprint, but one which has clearly visible lines for better looks.

Thank you very much in advance!

Welcome aboard EmThree:Kaleun_Salute: Try at electric boat or google submarine cutaway. My sailing skipper, who does classified engineering, says Electric Boat is feasible and some of the older stuff may no longer be classified. Good luck and good hunting.

Welcome to the boat,EmThree.
Trying to get your hands on blueprints of what is usually highly classified military hardware may not be healthy for you, depending on where you live.

Surely your internet search engine of choice could come up with what you seek. Unless you live where that function is blocked.

Nothing like invited scrutiny from the NSA.:hmmm:

Nave

In order to get blueprints for a submarine you first must have a DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE and you need to have a (need to know) reason for any info regarding submarine blue prints because they are issued by nave sea

Sadly official blueprints for the Russian/Soviet submarines are not available, but I could try to find accurate cut aways/drawings of specific desighns.

Submarine Plans

One of the best ways to understand the design of a Nuclear Sub (IMO) is a model of the Geo Washington Polaris boat sold in the 60s. As far as blueprints, I worked on a number of nuclear powered ships and subs and they kept a pretty tight grip on the designs and drawings. I had a Top Secret clearance (which would get a cup of coffee with $50) and was still limited to only the drawings of systems I was working on.

I saw some of the links offered here in response to your question and I am sure they are all perfectly legal, but depending on where you find the designs make sure you know they have been declassified. Certain politicians may get away with broadcasting our secrets, but normal people like us would likely go to Leavenworth.

Good luck,
LarryT
