Orbiter

Decided to give it a go again.

I downloaded and installed the super duluxe shuttle Atlantis and it says it has an auto pilot on it but can't find the switch. Would love to see it just take off and go about its business by itself.

You could always download the shuttle fleet 4.0.0. They have an automatic lift-off, all you have to do is throttle up.

WOW!:o I really like this sim.

So far I have:

Orbiter 060504 Base
PlanetHires060504
OrbiterSound35
Earth060504_L10
Mars060504_L10
Hi_res KSC + ShuttleFleet Patch v3.9.3
DragonFly060504

Now, considering I'm a GFX whore, how do I beautify this sim further. What are the must haves?

First and foremost, the ground textures suck and while I know it's not a land based sim, it would nice to have better textures for your launch areas.;)

XabbaRus 02-26-08 04:35 PM

Me too I'm looking for all the texture packs.

http://www.ibiblio.org/mscorbit/ (meadville space center)

http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=55046 (poke around the orbiter section and you will find alot of the planet textures)

http://www.geocities.com/fastheinz39/Saturns_Moons.html (outer planets for orbiter)

http://www.orbiterwiki.org/wiki/Main_Page (orbiterwiki)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/nassp/ (project apollo/NASSP)

http://koti.mbnet.fi/jarmonik/Orbiter.html (Interplanetary MFD which i personaly prefer over TransX)

Have fun :)

I highly recommend AMSO for your Apollo mission needs, if your computer can handle it:

Of course, the lovely Deltaglider and Dragonfly are always fun to fly, especially as the art is so well done. (grin)

Just picked it up from http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/home.php

Looks really cool. Totally free too.

Figured I give this a bump since I've noticed other's looking for free sims.

Not a bad sim at all. The 2010 edition that came out is a real beauty. :DL On 'rainy days' I kick back and blast station components into orbit and put them together. It's a little bit like playing with Tinker Toys, but with a half-hour of dark every hour to contend with. :haha:
