Probably one of the best take-offs ever...

That has to be one of the best take-offs ever. I wasn't sure where to put this, but finally decided on the flight sim section, mainly because you can actually do that in Aerosoft's Flight Tales mission pack for FSX. Defo the strangest but most fun take-off I've ever done!

Hope no-one's posted it before!:hmm:

This is apparently normal for float planes that don't have any water to take off from and lacking retractable wheels. You can apparently land float planes on grass strips if need be, but you have to use the dolly to get airborne.

Speaking about retractable float plane wheels, it is typically a bad idea to leave them down when trying to land back on water as can be seen in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-48V1m_MZxE
