Edit a sav file

Is there a way to edit a .sav file?
I ask as a last attempt to rescue a patrol. I loaded the save game by sh3 commander (as normally I do) and got CTD. The previous saves also got the same result.
What I noticed is the the save game before the patrol has today date and the save file of the patrol has yesterday date (last time I played).
I am thinking that the game is not be able to load the save file do to, possible, error in the dates.

Some time ago I had the same problem. Every time I loaded the savegame with commander the result was CTD.

So I tested to start without commander and the savegame loaded without any problem. Maybe it work also with your savegame.

I normally load the saves via SH3 commander and never had issues besides the normal laws of murphy and when saving in bad spots. I already tried to load the remaining save with out SH3 cmder but it is a no go.
I am beginning to think that I have to do that also.

You must have ROLLBACK = on!

Do you guys use ROLLBACK?

Yes and no. Normally I use rollback when I am going to enable a new mod or change anything related with that. Also, when starting a new campaign, but after that, I do not use it every time a came out of the game.
Again, never had so many CTD as lately, but things change. :hmmm:

I use the commander for 6 years and yes, rollback is always on.
