The Room

So, James Franco is coming out with The Disaster Artist, a movie about the best bad movie ever: The Room. Have you seen The Room? So many weird things, lots of odd laughing and "Oh hi!" lines, definitely worth the time.

Maybe give it a chance.:hmmm:

That's cool, I'm glad to hear that. He's a strange dude but he definitely made us laugh. So many quotable lines!

The LA Weekly has an article on the "The Disaster Artist" detailing a lot of the behind the scenes of the Franco brother's film:

James and Dave Franco Make a Great Film About the Worst Movie Ever: The Room --

http://www.laweekly.com/arts/james-a...e-room-8917052

The article mentions a couple of billboards that were up in Hollywood for the original film; until Neal made the OP, I didn't make the connection to the film, The Room; I had seen the billboard on Highland Avenue when it first went up and didn't see any others put up, always a sign a film is very low budget and probably is quite bad; I had no idea it was that bad...

Reviews are stunning!

San Francisco in the year 1998. It is there that we are introduced to Greg Sestero (Dave Franco), a young aspiring actor who lacks the confidence required to give him any kind of presence. It's because of this, however, that Greg finds himself somewhat in awe of Tommy Wiseau (James Franco), an oddball, pale-eyed, strange-looking member of his acting class who leans towards what can be subtly described as "explosive drama." Drawn in by Tommy's self-assurance and blinded to the fact that he's absolutely talentless, Greg seeks him out for guidance, and a friendship is quickly formed.

Greg quickly finds out that the more you know about Tommy, the less you know about him. While clearly an older guy, he claims to be as young as 19. While he speaks with an often-unintelligible accent, he claims to have been born and raised in New Orleans. And while he comes across as a complete moron, he possesses an immense fortune that basically lets him do whatever he wants. Naturally, never really questioning any of this is what allows Greg to form a close bond with Tommy, and after a few months working together they decide to make a run at their Hollywood dreams and move down to Los Angeles.

I wonder, how long until.... The Room II ? :k_confused:

They've got nothing to do with the 'The Room' movie.

There actually is a fan-made 'The Room' game which is pretty hilarious:
