Computer reboots itself

Okay this is interesting...im flying at 1500 feet on the way to mix it up with some other pilots and the computer reboots. This is the message I get when it has restarted adn is back to desktop.
It says ... since i cant seem to paste it here.. that is a serious error adn it gives me 2 lines of error signature that dont make any sense to me..

error says
BCCCODE 1000008e BCP1 C0000005 BCP2 AE756E9F BCP3 ABF53910 BCP4 00000000 OSVer 5_1_2600 SP 2_0 PROCUCT 768_1

thats a Windows BSOD,

Blue screen of Death,
they appear when Windows XP suffers a fatal error and shuts itself down to prevent further damage to the system.

it has happend 2x's now and only when flying...both times i was online.

HunterICX 04-21-08 12:09 PM

:hmm: does it also happen when you fly off-line?
and perhaps try other games as well (Online and offline)

Well i used ot do sh4 adn sh3 offline all the time w no errors..ill try flying awhile offline and see.

Sniper450 04-22-08 07:03 AM

flew alot offline yesterday and had no problems. Anyone experience this or have any ideas?

Kratos 04-22-08 07:56 AM

Only suggestion i can think of is your firewall might be an issue when flying online.

Sniper450 04-22-08 10:35 AM

ill double check but i think i have it set to allow it go be played online. I didnt think it would reboot the whole computer and would just close out the game.

HunterICX 04-22-08 10:59 AM

Does the same thing happen while you play other games ONLINE ?

I had similar problem with Battlefield 2 some time ago. Instead of BSOD, my PC freezed completely.

Do you by any chance have 2 windows' as dual boot on your PC? IIRC, that caused the crashes on my BF2

Sniper450 04-22-08 12:30 PM

I do not. Maybe ill uninstall 1946 and then do a clean install. Maybe that'll help fo rsome reason. I didnt have this problem until i tried to go online with it.

Sniper450 04-22-08 12:31 PM

Hunter to your question no it does not.

Sniper450 05-05-08 12:57 PM

ok it still happens..it freezes then sounds like the sound is stuttering then it reboots..here is the error message windows wants to send...

c:\docume~1\owner\locals~1\temp\wer490a.dir00\mini 050508-01.dmp
c:\docume~1\owner\locals~1\temp\wer490a.dir00\sysd ata.xml

:damn: :damn: :damn:

I meant to add that this is only online...

Last week I was reading up on S.M.A.R.T. Basically a program in XP that attempts to tell you your hard drive might be going bad. Most said it was a worthless program. The reason....for S.M.A.R.T to work you need to have additional programs installed because SMART send packets out via the internet looking for a central monitoring station. If not is present, it can cause crashing and rebooting. SMART can be disabled in the BIOS. Go ahead and disable it and see if your online crashing stops. If not, you can turn it back on and look for the cause else where. Do a quick google search and see what you find out about SMART and crashing.

Also, just make sure your CPU/GPU temps are good.
Other items to check as well. RAM is good. There are free RAM testers on the net.
PSU can handle the higher demand on online gaming.

I have spent a better part of 3 weeks with a shutting down or reboot issue. I checked everything. I found it was the micro on/off switch failing.

Hawk,Thank you for the info...iwill start with this troubleshooting this week. Ill have to do alot of googleing first im sure to educate myself.
