1. Start Campaign on May 25th 1942
2. Select Sub
3. Depart Pearl Harbor
4 using a speed of 12kts go to position 3010N 17940E or 310 / 195.1nm from Midway Island
5. you will arrive at approximately 1030 on 2 Jun 1942
6. “ Do not” move from that spot, do not submerge
7. At 4 Jun at 0643 you will not the clock “freeze” as the IJN fleet “spawns”
8. At 0725 on 4 Jun you get a radar contact bearing 335 at 12nm
9. go to periscope depth, you will see hydrophone contacts from bearing 245 clockwise to 340

Thank you, but I fixed it. Had to unload all my Mods on JSGME, and reload. Worked perfectly after that. I was doing exactly what you said before, with the aforementioned results. After the reload, everything worked right. Got a Kongo and a Hiryu in an attack, and got to see a DD bombed by US aircraft. All in all cool stuff. Very well done. I guess it was an issue with JSGME, because it works perfectly now.

This is my first time trying to post a quote from a previous post. Here goes:

I tried this with a few slight modifications. I started a new patrol (not a new campaign) in Pearl, around the same start date. Headed to Midway, topped off my tanks and headed to the 3010N, 17940E, arrived a little earlier than June 2 1030. Sat there and did nothing. Noticed the clock freezing around 4:40 am on June 4. Could not get a radar contact as it appears that radar is not available yet(?). Tried a couple of various things at this point: Moving West at various speeds, Hydrophones, waiting til 7:25 then doing all the aforementioned. Haven't had any luck. Maybe you just can't change history....

A polite question/request, is there a RSRDC for FOTRS in work?

I have a strange problem..maybe. Found two targets that appeared as sunken vessels near Tarawa. You could lock on as "Target 1". In my ID book there are two pages that simply state Target 1 or 2.

Not sure if it's TMO or RSRD. I am told that these two targets shouldn't be there and that I have a corrupt game or mod...someone else says they were placed there so as to have something to lock on to complete the recon...which is it,,,is there a target 1 and 2 in the ID book that are really sunken hulls?

I found them both listed in TMO and RSRD data/roster/env/sea. I just assumed both listed them the same as not to cause conflicts, but told they shouldn't exist and my game if fubar.

A few times I have been in search of a ship, or convoy, to find that suddenly, one or two of the ships appear as grey sunken symbols on the map. It wasn't me mum!

There is "nothing" wrong. These are "camera targets" for recon missions

This is from the RSRDC Upgrade Readme that you can find in the "Support" directory

Quote:

Revised “ALL” the photo recon missions. Using a “stealth” ship target, the user will now have to take a periscope photo of the target area. The “stealth” ship target is located under the “photo” icon on the nav display. If you have “map contacts” turned on you will see a “green” ship contact under the icon.

Special note: The concept of use invisible ship as a “photo” target was first put forth by “tater” in one of his “Improved Campaign” mods

Roster

Added two “stealth” ship target

What I thought.....dgrayson and ducimas now understand.

If you come back, does RSRD remove all the allied airfields. I noticed they're all gone. I also noticed few lifeboats when sinking capital ships.
I take it that's just too much to program considering both really have no bearing on the game.

New Version of RSRDC

There are new versions of RSRDC up. Go to first post for download links and info

keith_uk 05-03-09 10:57 PM

Will this version work with the previous version of TMO? TMO163 was it?

TMO1.7 has too many bugs.

I think i want to go back to the previous versions, as i'm just not getting anywhere in the game because of the bugs in the latest version of TMO.

Keith.
