Is it worth it?

Hello guys! Some of you know me. If you don’t, then I can tell you I’m a hard core SH3 fan. Been playing since day one.

Been thinking about a change of pace. Is sh5 worth it? I’m a campaign guy, do I need internet?

And finally, should I do sh5, or 4?

Just for your info I have never played either. I have no clue about either.

Yes SH5 is worth it, but only modded with essential mods or the whole megamod The Wolfes of Steel (TWoS). You need a non-Steam version 1.2.0 to start. From there you can:

a) Go to the TWoS thread and follow instructions. (In the SH5 modding forum section)

b) Play the modded stock game:

First, you must patch the 1.2.0 game with TDW Generic Patcher (will patch some game files, also sh5.exe and correct 20-30 basic game-breaking bugs, and no, Steam version cannot be fully patched with that).

Second, at least install these mods:
NewUIs_TDC_7_5_0_ByTheDarkWraith (not essential, but then never complain about bad realism, HUD and icons you don't like, also no station Teleport)
Torpedo Circle FIX (from TWoS, take the 2 files)
DeckGun Friendly Waves (from TWoS)
Shooting Range - Single mission (not essential but have 1 quick training mission at least)
No Damn Bubbles, No Damn Halo mod

Cheers,

SH5 has a limited number of U Boats to play, mods out there working and in progress for more types. SH4 is primarily US Fleet boats but also has U Boat expansion (Pacific) and mods available to play entire U Boat war. I have played all three Steam versions. SH5 requires Uplay, I play in offline mode. Why not do both!:yeah:

So you can play offline?

Hi b
SH5 with the TWOS Mega Mod is a higly enjoyable game to play at any difficulty level.
While the range of boats is currently limited to the Type VII a type IX is in advanced development to be added to the game.
I can highly recommend SH5 100% ctd free with TWOS using over 100 mods.

Can someone recommend a computer to run this game?

My laptop does not have the abulity to run a graphix card. So i need to upgrad. I am not looking to spend thousands of dollars. around $700. can someone help?

aslo, do I have to choose between nvidia or ATI as graphic cards options?

One more question. Is AMD Radeon a graphic card good for sh5?

The sh5 requirements state nvidia or ATI. It does not mention AMD.
