When and where to find capital ships?

Playing SH5 with TWOS mod and would like to know when and where to find capital ships if at all possible in ports. Just raided Scapa for 2 merchant ships and found nothing else in it. Is there a list of ship location and dates like there was in SH3?

Hi,

Capital war ships in Scapa are far deep North bay.
If i recall well, there are some big merchants at anchor as well, but before reaching them...and could be those ones you sunk :yep:

Don’t know about such a list, but someone else should answer you.
I’m quite sure you can find capital ships also in operation Wesserubung (Norway invasion).
Other wise, keep an eye for radio contacts in your capt log. Sometimes, task force group are spotted and you may be able to intercept them with wise calculations...

Have to say capital ships aren’t that easy to encounter in SH5, nothing like in SH4 anyway.
SH5 is mainly focused on Atlantic battle, wich was essentially merchants escorted by destroyers. In others words: convoys :salute:

I checked out the entire inlet, there was literally nothing there, not even a destroyer, I only encountered two of those in the western entrance and that was it. The entire bay was empty as can be with just two merchants there.

Also, how can I access the book with ship identification that contains nations and info like depth of keel etc? When I press E all I get are couple of charts with ship names, no info.

That is strange, because when Scapa mission is available, there is a lot of war ships activity around...and not one or two destroyers!

Destroyers are everywhere as time goes on, and very often i encounter them even in open sea. Rarely alone, often by pairs, sometimes few pairs together. Probably sub hunting...

About ship ID book, if you can call it by pressing E, you should see all info needed inside (keel depth, max speed etc) and of course all nationalities owned.
If not, then your install is messed up somewhere...

check if the ship recognition log is in the left hand of your screen, you should see a little tab pop up when you press e, it should be as simple as click and drag and poof it's there.

It is not necessary to request "Breaking the Fortress" 10/09/39 to 15/10/39
You must however be within this time scale to be able to have any chance of completing this objective/mission.
The destroyed marks show you the locations you need to be looking for.
