It's designed to be installed on top of the latest version of OLCE2!

@ OLC

thanks for all your help, mate!

So the water is too bright, mirror-like.

I want to make it darker, like a lake. Anybody with me?

The main objective was to make the water look wet, and that's done... now the color...

Mister Thomsen, i use the scene dat file from WAC 3.0 in my GWX 2.1 is it possible to do the same with that file? would be great:hmm:

Cezbor 09-08-08 02:48 AM

I'm eager to see it as a mod in my JSMG window:yep: Keep on good work. By the way I love your soundpacks.....

Fish40 09-08-08 04:01 AM

Looking real good. Can't wait to give it a try:yep:

Very impressive stuff Thomsen, really enhances the "scale" of things and makes the water look a lot more realistic. If this could be incorporated with OLC2 such that OLC's periscope, TDC and Binnoc views fit the scale then we'd be on to the best sea mod i've seen.

Of course i've not played with it so this is either conjecture or I haven't got a clue what i'm talking about.

Lools really cool!

I'm impressed. I wouldn't mind the double CPU work for my machine, if I can enjoy such waves.
I just would love to see the water darker. Like in OLC's EČ

This game Still rocks!

not sure what you mean... this mod would replace scene.dat and the environment files and textures and colors and the whole shabang...

Hi Thomsen, your videos are fantastic ...unluckly I'll not be able to see your mod on my slow pc...

Anyway, i think, like other people here, the colour should be just a bit darker and blue. Maybe is better test the colour in midday time w/o clouds.. unlucky i usually see the Atlantic Ocean just by airline, but from that altitude, the sea is a deep blu. Here just samples to share:

No it won't be compatible.
But choice is a good thing, right?

Edit:
Cross-posted.
@PT
Huh?
Those are not OLCE2 videos... not even similar. And how can this possibly be compatible with OLCE2?

Coz I built this on top of your mod! I'm using your textures and particles.

Well, firstly they're not my particles, they're GWX particles with tweaks to the way they are lit by light sources in the environment.
More importantly, OLCE2 is rather more than a few wave textures. You're not using the scene.dat by the look of it, nor the colour files from OLCE2... in fact I'm hard-pressed to see anything at all from OLCE2 apart from those wave textures. You can't just grab a couple of textures and call it 'compatible'. :nope: Just say it like it is: it's an alternative. Not the same thing as compatible. :know:

Onelifecrisis is quite correct.

Furthermore, just because a thing is made to be different, doesn't always make a thing BETTER. It only makes a thing different.

Secondarily, messing around with the environmental files can really screw up AI performance if you don't know what you are doing.

Edited.

This is a good one to see how the small waves make a difference in the ship size. The Titanic looks really huge with those small waves around him, and looking from the bridge it's a real monster. It really makes you feel like you should never cross it's path, avoid a collision at all costs. I'm not happy with the water in the morning time yet. While it looks great in certain angles, it looks crispy and pixeled in others. Like I said, this is a WIP yet. Any feedback is welcome.

Very nice Herr Thomsen, but i'm disappoint, because i expect a really big KAAAABOOOOM on this movie!;)
