Question about Difficulty
 

Hello all,

I've mostly lurked on this forum but I finally wanted to ask a question. I bought SH 3/4/5 about a year ago and have only started really playing them recently. For SH4, I use the Trigger Maru and Run Silent/Run Deep mods. I have found that both of these mods improve the gameplay for me; however, the gameplay is still just a bit too easy.

My issue is that I am able to come across Japanese ships rather too easily. I am routinely getting tens of thousands of tonnes of Japanese shipping per patrol and have more than tripled the highest scoring US submarine by mid 1943. I feel that the game is incredibly unbalanced in this regard and it removes any sense of accomplishment when you can easily rack up kills.

I will get to the point: Is there another mod which will make it more difficult to find Japanese ships? I realize this is a game so they maybe intended it to feel more arcade-y for lack of a better term but I would personally enjoy a more difficult feeling.

You could give Bleiente's Ralles RealModPack for TMO_RSRDC_OTC a try, which has CapnScurvy's Optical Targeting Correction (OTC), which includes a little gem called "Tokko's Revenge".
