Typical U-Boat depth?

I was wondering, what was the typical depth a U-Boat would dive to in order to avoid attack? Would they go straight down to 100, try to stay more shallow, or go right into the yellow?

A WW II Uboat crash dive depth was 70 - 90 meters.(wiki) https://www.uboatarchive.net/Diving/DivingRegulations.htm

Cheers :Kaleun_Salute:

I’ve also found that U-29 dove to around 55 metres after firing torpedoes at the Courageous, and that supposedly that was the deepest her skipper had ever gone.
