US NAVY - PENSACOLA-CLASS HEAVY CRUISER

With all respects to the community I'm glad to propose a new ship - US Navy's Pensacola-class Heavy cruiser.

Special thanks to Rockin Robbins, who give me permission to release the ship from FOTRS 2.0 for Silent Hunter 3 after her conversion.
Let me to express thanks to AOTD/MadMax and the excellent FOTRS team for original model of the ship and to Isinchievici and Buc-bgpatrascu for USN guns library.

Thank You very much. This weekend I'm planning to release one more US Navy's Heavy cruiser - CA New Orleans-class. CA Portland in progress.

Hello,

One ship I really would like to be better modelled is the King George V class battleship. Any chance here ?

Stefan Thimme 11-30-16 06:55 AM

Unfortunately I don't work with BB King George V now. I know that Karle94 created new excellent model for SH4.

I think it is possible to convert her for SH3. I'm trying to convert another ship of Karle94 for SH3 - BB Richelieu. I faced a lot of problems but I think I'd have relevant experience to start conversion of BB King George V too if I'd be able to complete my work with BB Richelieu.

Call me silly... for a moment I was lost, if only because I know he set sail for eternal patrol more than one year ago  :har:

Well done on your conversion, Stefan :yeah::salute:

Hi Stefan Thimme,

great work :Kaleun_Applaud:
Have you released the CA New Orleans-class already or is it still WIP?

Best, LGN1

Hello Stefan,

a few comments:
1. I told you the story of the textures and the gun library, so I won't repeat :03:

More important:

2. You reversed the position of the double and triple 8 inch turrets, right? Why? The model of Maddy was fully correct, with the double turrets in lower and the triple turrets in upper position. It is an unusual arrangement but was the only way to fit the four turrets. If you won't believe just search for images of USS Pensacola and USS Salt Lake City.
Or just check here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...24%29_1945.jpg

Cheers

Dear Mr. Frog,

You fully right. To be frank I have already found my mistake with turrets. But in any case I thank You for Your remarks and comments which help me very often.
So this weekend I plan to release updated CA Pensacola (with revised turret position) and revised CA Portland. I wished to do it before Christmas/New Year holidays but I was very busy with my job the last days of 2016.

Of course I'll put my thanks to You in credits for this pack for textures and gun library.

With thanks and best regards,
Stefan
