New Pirates of the Carribean game coming out.

Disney Interactive studios is apparently making a new RPG pirate game, called Pirates of the Carribean: Armada of the Damned. It'll be coming out for the Ps3, PC, and Xbox360.

Not much information besides:

Live to tell the tale of becoming a notorious pirate captain or suffer a fate of eternal damnation. Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned is an epic, action role-playing game that offers an entirely new experience within the Pirates of the Caribbean universe. The game takes place before the events of the blockbuster films. Players will take on the role of a pirate and embark on epic land and sea adventures. Numerous moral and character choices will need to be made that affect their character and the original story within the world. Players will explore a massive open world while fighting enemies, mystical creatures and Mother Nature, both to gain experience and stay alive. Supernatural elements familiar to the Pirates of the Caribbean world will also affect their character's story and influence their choices.
Lets hope it follows in the steps of Sea Dogs.

From the couple screen shots, it looks amazing.

You know the first Pirates of the Caribbean that was supposed to be the next Sea Dogs game I believe, I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the graphics were the best in the world!

That game, along with SH2 inspired me to become an indie game developer, with graphics comparable to PoTC and game play of SH2.

Since then, there hasn't really been a pirate game that has got my attention, didn't even bother with Sid Meyer's Pirates!, but I'll keep an eye out on this one :)

"Age of Pirates 2 - City of Abandoned Ships" is the latest game from Akella, the developers of Sea Dogs and its following titles "Pirates of The Carribean" and Age of Pirates. :)

Is it any good? Sometimes i feel like a good swashbuckling kick in the butt would put me in a better mood after long days at school or work :yep:

Yes it's quite good, but rather difficult but there are 10 difficulty levels ranging from Sailor to Impossible.

It takes a while to get used to the fighting controls.
It's real pain fighting multiple enemies, you have to run a little and fight a little. :P

The fighting part was easier in PoTC.

The sailing part is the same as in the earlier games IIRC, except that the guns can be destroyed by enemy fire or by firing them ( It has do to do with the corresponding skill I think ) One thing is for sure, it's annoying when you lose firepower, especially in a lugger or a sloop.

I liked the system in Sid Meier's Pirates! better with "divide the plunder" more than the system with monthly salary in Akella's games, ( You want HOW much?! :o )
And they need rum and food as well.

Escorting merchants, transporting cargo and taking passengers where they want to go is a good way to earn some money at the start.

After the learning period it can be fun but expect some frustration with the fighting on land and in boarding battles though. And SAVE OFTEN!! I've made that mistake playing for some time and not saving. :)

Well once I get some money back in this pocket (school costs :nope:) I'll try to find a copy.

Pirates of the Burning Sea was a decent game, I only played the Open Beta, just hated that everything was an instance, I wish there was an open ended ocean you could sail :arrgh!:

Yeah I kind of like AOP2 especially when you can finally get the BIG ships.
Here is my first Battleship with 80 32 caliber cannons. 612 men. One bad boy.:arrgh!:

And to protect her I've two 32 24 caliber cannon "Corvettes".

Hey I'm just a humble merchant protecting his wares. :arrgh!:

Until SH5 hits the shelves I'll just be a Swashbuckling merchant. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y116/oleman/duel1.gif
