[WoS] Non Illuminated Shipping
 

Hello there got 2 Questions regarding WoS



1.10.39, i was leaving Willhelmshaven and found a non Illuminated Belgium Tanker going Full Speed close to the Harbor east. I shot him and on the deathmark on Map it says "neutral"


Question: Am iam allowed to attack him? I thought all unilluminated Shipping was considered hostile? And why did it go Topspeed?




I got the Red Button on the TDC where i can go Manually(grey) or Automatic (Red) with my Data.


Question: Is there some way to go Manually and get the Bearing from the Periscope? Because clicking on the Bearing in TDC Input isnt that accurat.

You loose points when sinking neutral ships.
Look at the flag page for more info (press "E" in the game and select flags)

Flagsection says nothing. There is no "Neutral" and no Joining Date of the Nation for WW2. So i assumed they are shootable. :Kaleun_Salute:
So Belgian ships arent allowed? Or just since date xx.xx.xxxx?

In 1939 only Polish at first, then British and French.
Others are not ennemies in first mission…

Hello, anyone can tell me what the Estimated Speeds from the Sonarman mean? Slow, Medium and Fast in Knots?

Slow = around 5 knots
Médium = around 10 knots
Fast = usually above 15 knots

Does they get Alarmed in Radius X (around 100km) just going Full Speed when they loose a comrade? And if so how long? Got lots of Fast Moving Merchants going Max Speed.

Sneak aways from Destroyers
 

The Year is 1939, i attacked a Convoy with 2 European Liners and sunk both. Right after i shot my last eel the Shots come flying in. I dive immediatly and doesnt get hit. Then i go on 50m (almost on Ground, Its no deeper here) and try to sneak away. But for more than 2 Hours now they keep searching me, start pinging me and drop depth charges. I didnt get hit but they are always above me and got me on the hook or at least knew where i am.


What Speed should i go and when? When to use Silent Running? Why are they tracking me? And why does every Destroyer i met so far have ASDIC in 1939?

Go the slower as possible and the deeper as possible with silent running as soon as you are detected by DD.
When he is right on top of you dropping charges, you can go flank speed and turn an evasive manœuvre. Soon after, go slower again.
When DD is moving away from you, you can go faster as he listen by front and his own prop will disturb his hydrophone.

When is the Right moment to go Flank? And how long does the exploded Depth Charge disturbe the Water and the Enemy Hydrophones.


I read somewhere on going 50RPM. How should i do that? Maintain Silent Running and "Gear1"? How you change the Speed? With Keyboard Arrow up?


When i press the 1 on my Speedbar the Indicator isnt moving there.


What Speed in Knots is your Boat going when going Silent?


Is there some Ingame Tutorial on escaping the Destroyers?


Really Frustrating, need advice or maybe i quit *sad*

Go flank for a short time when the DD is right upon you.
DC disturbance is about 30s if they are implemented in TWOS.
When ordered slow, you go 2 knots...but clicking just below the speed dial it change for knots instead of slow/standard/full/flank.
This way click for 1 knot!
Searching on forum, you will find tactics to evade DD.

Can you hear the Doubleping in ASDIC with the WoS Mod? Just want to know it they just ping somewhere or if they got me. Can not hear a change in sound so far :o

Convoi Report in Radio
 

Got a convoireport from BDU. FN leaving Southampton going for Thyn With two Escortservice.

1. Are those Convoi really in Game?
2. What ist their Time of leaving the Port? When i recieve the Message?
3. How fast they are going? And how far from Coast are they traveling?
4. Do they Stop in Ports along the Coast?

So much guessing, trying TI intercept them
