Perhaps a Schnellboot is a good idea?

Lets have some dreams: Someone creates a new base at channelcoast, where you can switch to, to have some S-Boot fights against british channel trafic. I would love it. This would be a great breakthrough.

Bases are easy to add

Plenty to choose from

Tis a lot of sea out there

Also I agree with you and BBW, sailing a BB would be quickly boring, a DD could be nice but the current game limitations would spoil half the fun : no AI subs to DC :-?

But what if a MP mission was written, with half the players as U-boats and the other half assigned as destroyers with a convoy? :arrgh!:

GoldenRivet 02-03-08 04:26 PM

Is this usable at the present time?

i would love to go on a night mission and rush into a british port, strike a few ships, and then go speeding out!

wonder if it will mess up GWX2 though :nope:

just got to thinking, i could do a whole new install in a separate folder for SH3 and use this mod separately as a stand alone.

GoldenRivet 02-03-08 06:12 PM

sounds fun... where do we go to try it out?

IIRC, you can significantly speed up loading by having the game omit loading mission files or some such. ::mutters:: I remember reading that not all that long ago. I just can't recall the exact files to omit, but the thread had mentioned doing to to speed up loading for testing.

edit: this is the thread I was thinking of: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...5&postcount=14

all im worried about is getting owned by the first destroyer you see. your only 10knts faster and youu've only got 4 torps....a ship like a Detchland would make it easy sure, but you would stay alive. Besides make it need a lot of renoun start a player with a DD or a commerce raider.

Theoretically if you were running away, he would do one of two things.

1. Broadside you so he can bring all guns against you (your zig zagging wildly i hope) if he does this you are running away from him at a very good rate because he has little or no forward gain on you.

OR

2. he will head right for you and chase you in which case he will only be able to bring the forward turret(s) against you. You wont out run him very quickly but... he will have a reduced chance of scoring a hit.

Stock games applies textures stocked in Textures/High folder. A texture in dat file will be always replaced if there is one in this folder.
