nobody seems to know the answer.
i did change de cfg (main)
changed full screen=Yes to full screen=No
then the game started, but after closing and starting again, it was the same: game will not start.

Literally, I had the same problem this month (after not playing this game for ages) on Windows 10. I've tried this very same solution - no effect. After hours of frustration I simply reinstalled the game from the original CD, chose to install the game and "old/original" Directx 9c. And it worked. Try that, update your game to patch 1.4 (via Subsim patch: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...p?do=file&id=8) and sail on.
