Why's that? That's where the 109 shines with it's high rate of climb. :yep:

I dunno, it just dosen't seem to be as effective to me with the 109. I probably need more practice.

Maybe you should have few Spit vs. 109 dogfights, that should help you to get back to BnZ. :p

Will do. I normally use a Hellcat, now using the 109 it feels like I went from a Daewoo to a Rolls Royce..Rolls Royce powered I guess.

Ah, sorry I;ve not replied sooner - been a most hectic week at work! It is rapidly approaching coursework deadline time and my classes are now starting to panic that they havent been listening to me the last few months about starting to get their act together and to make things worse half the department is off sick :damn:

Anyhow, We are indeed always looking for new people - we're a nicely warm and friendly bunch like that!
We have also started up a much more indepth training program with the introduction of our Luftkriegsschule run by our 3 training officers. The official training night is Thursday at 20:00 GMT but to be honest you will find at least one of the training officers online most nights around then, and even a lot of mornings around 9:00 GMT when our Auzzie chaps are right side up!

With the 109G2 it really is the most balanced variant, it is very forgiving to new pilots in all aspects except landing and accomodates both boom and zoom tactics and turn and burn. In JG53 you will find practitioners of both tactics and everyone is always happy to share knowledge and tips, teamwork is our top priority and a team is only as strong as its weakest element (oh god I sound like some sort of motivational speaker!:|\\ ) and because of that we try to ensure all pilots are at least able to perform at a certain standard to ensure both they and their team-mates have a chance at survival in some of our most hectic missions by concentrating on training and bettering everyone's skills.
If you want to know more, just drop by and sign up, any questions you may have will be answered as quickly as possible as someone is bound to know the answer, and in the rare case where someone doesnt, there will always be someone who will help find it out!

Well, as always, we have an open door policy to recruitment - even if you don't know which way round to sit in the cockpit we will get you signed up and once you've had some sessions with our training officers you'll be flying along humming the topgun theme in no time!
And if you like the poster - you'll just have to wait for the rest in our poster campaign to be posted

Okie, Val. I've made my decision to return to JG53 tonight.

One question tho, should I take the training class as it was introduced after I retired?

I'll be PM'ing you with my custom skin some time today. ;)

Fincuan 01-18-09 11:07 AM

Hey that'll make two of us then. My PC is finally "in shape" to properly play IL2 again.

Dowly 01-18-09 11:34 AM

Good to hear that.

Valantine 01-18-09 08:28 PM

Good to have you both back! A couple of quick but frantic missions there! Perhaps no the next ones you'll get to tour Sicily a little more beofre the Brits or Amis show up to ruin the party!

Fincuan 01-18-09 08:32 PM

No problems Val, and I'm terribly sorry for the ruined 109s

Gotta keep the mechanics busy and so on...

Dowly 01-19-09 03:39 AM

It was nice to fly with you guys again, especially the 2nd sortie was pretty good. Tho, they really ought to try and read the chatbox as nobody on the 2nd flight reacted to my warnings about the 4 P38s who were bouncing us.

"2 flight, ABOVE US!"

Nothing.

As the first P38 flew above towards the lead "2nd, BREAK!!"

Nothing.

"Frick this! I'm getting out of here!" :rotfl:

Oh well, we got them, that's what matters. :yep:

Darn those Beaufighters can take a beating.
