Is this a map bug?

Hey guys, I started a career in July 1945 and I looked at the map and Iwo Jima was still marked as red. I know that Iwo Jima was invaded in February and I think that the japs surrendered on Iwo before July. So was this a map bug or does the game not model the Iwo invasion?

Sounds like an oversight.

What do u mean by "oversight"? Are u saying that u haven't noticed this before?

Oversight: an unintentional failure to notice or do something.

Well, I went to Iwo and I got a radar contact of a ship that was moving away from the island and then the square on the map turned into a grey "ship sunk marking". When I came to visual range of Iwo, there was the stern of a jap merchant stinking straight up into the air. Obviously the sunken ship. Anyway there were no ships at Iwo or aircraft or land units. So I guess it was just the map not changing the color.

I've never been when/where it would come up. However, others have noticed similar things, where friendly ships were moving toward "enemy" ports or vice-versa. The game is far from perfect, and while mods have corrected many mistakes, it is an impossible task to get to them all.
