IL-2 Sturmovik series

Has anyone been able to run any of these on Windows 8? My pc's not the problem, I'm sure, since it runs all my other flight sims really well (and I have most of them). I can't even get it to run the original and I've tried all the compatibility settings I can, both in set-up and play. My old XP rig runs all IL-2 well, except I have to turn the clouds off altogether in 1946 to get decent fps. |

Trying now. I was running 4.07 on win10 OK but trying to update to 4.12.2 has broken it. Fresh install is warranted now.

No. I wasn't aware of them backtracking from HSFX. I'll be digging for the updates now. |
Go to SAS they'll have every thing you'll need there,, I just did a fresh install had to dump hsfx ,,, went back to SAS's Modact for 4.12.2 to save some room can't tell that from HSFX

I'll look at the other site too, thanks. |
OK I'm back up and running 4.12.2. It took a bit to find where to map the throttle control but that's sorted and it's all good. Thanks for the help and now it's time to move on with my day.

Glad I could be of assistance :salute:

Speaking of Cliffs of Dover, a new bomber event was recently announced on ATAG. I'd recommend everyone have a look, they're great fun :salute: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.co...ad.php?t=20940 Here's some footage I took from an earlier bomber event, called Italy Attacks: https://youtu.be/A1N02ghgJOo |
Since I posted that rubbish I got a proper gaming PC with good processor and graphics; I insisted on having Win8 taken off and XP installed and it now runs just about anything. It even runs 'BoB II' so I'm happier still... I could never get that bugger to run on any computer before now.
