[REL] JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) v2.6 now available!

DOWNLOAD JSGME here in SUBSIM Downloads

v2.6.0 Latest and last version

This is the JonesSoft Generic Mod Enabler, a vital program for installing and running mods for virtually any game. It lets you install with the click of a switch, warns you of potential conflicts and uninstall them again if you don't like them.

In case it isn't obvious enough:

IMPORTANT!
If you intend installing over any previous version of JSGME, you MUST disable all enabled mods first. Not doing so will corrupt JSGME and hence your game. Once you've disabled all mods, you can install the new version over the top of the old version and resume using as normal.

A few people (literally) have indicated that JSGME is not correctly removing folders added by mods. If you experience this problem, and you are 100% sure that you have both the folder and any files within the folder closed, pls post details to me including the exact steps that I can follow to repeat the problem. Also include details of the OS you are using and any error messages.

Saying to anyone else that "JSGME won't remove folders" won't fix it. ;)

JScones, thank you for updating this very cool tool. I had version 2.5 and I clicked "update" within the application and it said I had the most recent version. I had to go to your website to download directly. So is v2.6 a complete break from the earlier versions which is why the 'update' did not detect this newer version?

JScones 08-07-10 09:51 PM

No, it's because some idiot forgot to upload the updated versions file...all fixed now, thanks for the heads up.

Your welcome! I guess you will make that poor ol' idiot walk the plank...or force them to buy the next round at the pub!

Great stuff as always Jaesen :salute:

If you need anything translated I'm happy to assist

JScones 08-08-10 03:55 AM

Thanks. I haven't sent any emails out to the translators yet; the files are starting to get out of sync with each other so I can't just send one global email like I usually do.

I've u/l the latest translation files to the usual place (http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/sof...cts-jsgme.html) so if you and the other translators want to d/l "yours" and scan them for the changes that are required and email them back to me, I would be very much appreciative.

Only 10 or so lines for you to check.

I've got my file for translation. I will try to get it done as quickly as possible (I'll be on vacations from Friday so it might take a little bit longer than usual)
