My goodness - the usual suspects are playing The Ship! :o Any good, guys?

Yeah I noticed that as well! Isn't that the MP game when you're supposed to kill off someone on a ship without anyone else noticing?

Arclight 12-27-11 10:11 PM

It is. :yep:

Pretty fun, can lead to some awkward and rather hilarious situations.

Basically, you have a target, just like everyone else. Pull out a weapon in view of security or with witnesses around and you'll be detained for a bit and lose cash and items in inventory. Cash is rewarded for kills; amount varies with weapon used, so it pays to snoop around for high rewarding ones or go for high damage for easier kills (usually pay less).

Trick is not getting caught hitting your mark, without getting wacked yourself.

So many games... so many deals... I'm flipping between youtube and Steam finding a cheap game I haven't played, looking up a video review, finding a new game, looking up the review...

Nah, I only bought it because it was cheap and I couldn't find my copy of BoB2. Is Wings of Prey on sale too? I might check that one out as well.

Wings of Prey isn't an IL2 title. If Wings of Prey is better though, then I wish I had gotten it over Clod, I've had a rocky start with Clod.

I've just totted up what I've spent, and what I've got for my money, since the last week in November.

£20 - give or take a few pence. 17 games.

Obviously there is nothing like DCS:A-10C, or BF3 in there, but still... I already had them! :yep:

Oh, and I've got a giftable copy of The Ship if anyone is interested, whack Raptor01 with a mannequin's arm, or Dowly with a crowbar, or more likely - me with anything! :stare:

:D

I only ended up getting Portal 2 from the steam sale..though I did pick up Batman Arkham City from Gamersgate for $20:D (they had a 6 hour time limited sale and I had the money so a no brainer really )

Spyguy101 01-27-12 06:02 PM

Are there any other seasonal steam sales to expect?

Probably not, check gog.com if you are into older games, they got good deals. :salute:
(and yes, they work on Windows 7 if they say so)

Well they did have one for Halloween (I think?) and I seem to recall they had some sort of spring break thingy last year...so maybe some kind of sale sometime in the upcoming months, but don't expect anything of the scale of Christmas...

They definitely had a sale last summer...though I dunno how big or long it was (away with you, naughty people! I'm talking sales here, nothing...else!)

CCIP 01-27-12 06:55 PM

Nah, Steam has deals fairly regularly. There's always a 'midweek madness' sale where you can often bag some pretty good games for the same price you'd get them on the holidays, and occasionally good weekend deals too.

Then I recall there was a random big sale that went on last summer as well. Keep an eye on it.

However, gog.com is honestly more worth your attention if you like old games. I support that website wholeheartedly and IMO their business model is the fairest to the customer (what with the no-DRM policy and no-hassle distribution) :yeah:

Drewcifer 01-27-12 11:15 PM

Basically ditto what CCIP said.

Steam is pretty random with sales, sometimes they don't do anything but garbage games for awhile then all of a sudden they have a brand new 59.99 game you wanted for 30 bucks, or something. I don't think there is any real pattern or season they follow I just think somebody spins a wheel they post a sale and continue on with the day.

One question: is there a way to go and get the prices in dollars?
as they dont put the difference from $ to € ( maybe also £?).

generally i am fairly positive with steam. Only annoying thing is when i suddenly lose connection , or forget going in offline before going offline/with no internet. It's a tiny annoyance when i travel ( from what i remembe rit didnt do like that, think started it after an update before summer ( ? ) ).
Also when, due to my slow connection, i have to play a game installed from disc only when its patched ( i remember with shogun 2 total war it was a pain with the mega patch and i suspect also without the ''keep game always updated'' ticked :06:)

Spyguy101 01-29-12 10:44 PM

Well thank you for the info, now im just checking the deals everyday now. Which has paid off since I have been looking at getting DCS Black Shark for months now and it just went on sale!:D

Dowly 02-07-12 01:54 PM

Skyrim's -33% on Steam, also Morrowing GOTY and Oblivion GOTY are -50% each. :yeah:
