RAMBO fleet

I encountered a large fleet in bad weather with only 2 destroyer escorts. Merchants were UNARMED. I took out the escorts, sunk a few merchants. Saved and closed the game.

Loaded the game. SH5 gave me the remaining 20 merchants, only this time every last was FULLY ARMED with cannon, both fore and aft. The surface attack I originally had planned was now impossible with my one deck gun versus 40. :damn:

Unarmed fleets should not be able to spontaneously arm themselves between a game save and a game load. The save/load discrepancies in SH5 are a source of considerable frustration.

Hello!
I've found out that disabling the storing of save games 'online' doesn't work. I tried to disable it in launcher, even manually by setting "SaveOnline=false" in launcher's .ini file but save games are still synchronized...

Hi all....I am new to the whole SH franchise but having a good time playing SH4.

I am not intending buying SH5 yet....but I am in the process of building a new computer. So thinking ahead could anyone give me advice on the best graphics card to purchase that will run it smoothly. I currently have a Nvidia GT220 but after reading it seems that ATI may be the best way to go, problem is I know nothing about them.

Havent got hundreds and hundreds of pounds to spend. Any recommendations really appreciated.

Cheers

I am in the process to order and upgrade my nVidia 8800GT ( barely enough 10-12 FPS ) to a ASUS EAH5870 V2 DirectCU , I think to play without problems SH5 by at least a ATI 5830 is needed ,

Welcome aboard triumph! While your PC is ridiculously state of the art, the game isn't. Did you install the DirectX 9.0c from the DVD? If not, that would be causing issues on Windows 7 with hardware that didn't exist when this game was coded.

Why underwater color at night is lighter than sea surface?

So you can see? There are mods that make underwater pitch black essentially for those who like that sort of thing, but if you're gonna keep the external camera on might as well be able to actually see something with it. :DL

Post Patch -

Not sure if this is the right place for this but...

#1
While observing the crew loading torpedoes in the bow section I noticed that the crew kinda rubs "air" while doing the starboard side. Port is fine. The starboard side the crew is about a in-game foot off the torpedo and wheel.

#2
While on the conning tower with time compressed - the crew lags behind the boat, catches up, lags again. The kinda hover in mid air while they lag.

Autoupdated today and now when i try to run the game a little window pops up declaring:

Ubisoft Game Launcher:
Error Code 2

Running Windows 7 64bit
no mods or other changes to SHV

Any ideas before I uninstall the game?

Thanks!

Periscope Bug

So is there any kind of fix for the bug where the observation scope raises itself upon loading the game and then there's no way to lower it?

There sure is!

It's lowered by default by TheDarkWraith's NewUI + TDC as well. Kinda sad the devs couldn't add that single line of code (heck, single command) to the 1.2 patch in order to fix that annoying bug...

I Agree with  Kylania :yeah: , may be is not exact realistic , but with the pitch black underwater is worst because I can see nothing , therfore I like the " Stock " underwater color
