The Mogami was originally a stock ship I thought, cdsubron7, that was updated in FotRS 1.3, (TMO??), but I might be (probably am) wrong.

I did NOT get weird sensor behavior (well, the "enemy" "saw" me from an unbelievable distance) in the two SM I've noodled in (1st round documented above). I have gotten strange flakey behavior out of the "control" of the game, as above, but not as bad just a bit ago. I am going to do another SM later tonight, and then fire up a campaign and see how long I last... It's kind of fun not being stealthy, trying to see what the AI does...

As an aside, I'm going to be unavailable for several days, unless we find somewhere with decent internet -and- horror of horrors! - my computer will be my son's 1st gen core i3 (can't remember the speed), with 8 gig of RAM, so I'll be testing the minimum system requirements as much as I can. Saying that, it'll probably work better than my quad core... - "Talk" to you tomorrow from the Nashville, Tennessee area - if we can get through the traffic...

Agreed, the late war version was the stock mogami, but somewhere along the way an early version was made and added to another mod. :D

Working with 010 editor I have several scripts for you guys nearly done.
RR was sent a link for the first one completed.
It's an eye opener.
It will identify files that just ain't right and give you a list in mere seconds.

The second script I'm working on will search the same files and fix them.
You won't need to go through them one by one with S3D once it's done.

Say you have a file that is missing something an you open it with S3D to fix it.
Say it takes 5 minutes.
Now say you have 30 files to fix!
That's over 2 hours if you don't make any mistakes.
Now if you can do a mass fix in under 5 minutes?
Is that a good thing?

Sometimes a Good Hex Guy is nice to have around.
;)

Oooohh, ~nice~, Jeff-Groves... can you find bad links and files that don't comply in SH.sdl in the Sound folder, or is this geared more towards the graphics side of things?... I'm currently trying to get the SH.sdl data into a spreadsheet, combined with what I've already done with a metadata script on the audio files, so I can sort by 'like' files, ie: ambient sounds with other ambient sounds, and compare names, data rates, and such... ?? We're trying to "emulate stock", as CapnScurvy suggests with the sound, which should reduce anomoly encounters of the undesired kind.

The nice thing about using 010?
I can write scripts on the fly so to speak.
If I can identify a problem and understand how to fix it?
I can write a script for 010 to do the grunt work.

What is it about the sdl file you want?
A way to export it?

Thanks for all your help, Jeff. I kow you've saved the guys in the project a lot of work. :D :salute:

I hope I can help you all even more.
I'm a technical kind of Modder. By that I mean I don't like non-standard files.
There's a lot of reasons for that.
Some would say it doesn't matter as long as it works.
I say if it can possibly cause CTD's then it should be done right the first time.

I do use S3D at times. Mostly to double check what I do in Hex.
:03:

I'm a Hex Guy and can do it all faster with 010.
That don't make me a bad Guy.
:haha:

propbeanie,
Try the program I sent you a link to and see what you think.

@ Jeff Groves, thanks for the help! Everyone is a bad guy unless proved otherwise. :har::haha:

@CdrSubron7, I strongly believe that your single missions should be included in FOTRS Ultimate v1.0. They're too good. For now, a copy-paste should do fine I think.:)

Psychology and morale play a huge role. I mean, I'm a veteran in sub sims. But knowing that the Combined Fleet's elite, the Kido Butai is coming my way... things change. :hmmm: I've tried Indian Ocean Foray three times.

The first one I was detected far from the force, escorts came my way, chased me out with moderate damage. The second... the same. Got me a destroyer this time, the rest hunted me for an hour, real time, no damage, Kido Butai escaped. The third I was more determined. Managed to sneak closer for a torpedo attack. Fired all four aft torpedoes, 1 hit and 1 dud on the Hiryu, the carrier shrugged the damage and continued, didn't manage to slow down the fleet. But the escorts teared me to pieces this time. Managed to surface, but to no good. :dead:

I have my hands full right now, I save your missions for later. But not before I give me another chance with the Kido Butai. :arrgh!: :yeah:

Billy.

Precisely, sir. And thanks for the file.

I've got 6 single missions put together now, just need to do some fine tuning to get them finished. Then I zip them up and upload them to our super secret storage area. Would you guys prefer them as just folders that you can copy and paste into the singlemission folder or would you prefer them JSGME ready? I know you all are working on different aspects of the Ultimate Project and may not have much time to spare, but if you do take a break and give my missions a try, I would appreciate some feedback on what you think of them. :yep:

Even though it's my aim to include them in the core mod, let's keep everything JSGME compatible. If you do it the same all the time nobody but me will screw it up......

No kidding! I've been really pressed for time the past 48 hours and it might look like I haven't done much. That would be true, at least here!

That sounds incredible. Right now we're catching stuff that the AOTD people didn't catch before release. We're in virgin territory now. Onward through the fog!

Just finishing up a new single mission and while giving the mission a test run a question comes to mind. It concerns the IJN Heavy Cruiser Mogami. Right now there only seems to be a latter version of the Mogami in FOTRS. This is the one that was converted to a partial airplane carrier such as the Ise Battleship. Below is a screenie.

:yep:

There's one of the promo screenies for the launch thread! Yikes! That's no "screenie" that's a work of art. Everything is just magnificent and it answers "Why should I be interested in FOTRS Ultimate?" in a dozen different ways!

Ditto on the 'Yikes! - that is beautiful. Is that shot from FOTRS only?

I am curious about the 010 tool, can it read the exe?

Congratulations on passing 20,000 plus hits (by a mile) guys.

Jeff-Groves 07-17-16 11:02 AM

010 is a hex editor on performance enhancing drugs.
:haha:
http://sweetscape.com/

Download the 30 trial version then grab the exe.bt Template.
Open the exe with it and see what you think.
