I have Wolves of the Pacific and U-Boat missions, but for some reason both are at version 1.3. Using Steam, I have no idea how to get the 1.5 version.

We'd have to wait for a SH4 Steam user to be certain (I've only got SH3 & SH5 on Steam), but back off any mods you have on them, and pull the MODS folder somewhere else for "safe-keeping". Then log into Steam on your computer, go to the library (after you close the news and messenger windows  ), right-click on the "Uboat Missions" title, and choose "Properties", which will bring up a dialog. Click on the "Local Files" tab, and then on the "Verify integrity of game files" button. Let it run through its thing - which will about as long as it takes for the game to install, and hopefully it'll get it back to where it should be. What does Steam name the two versions of the game? They would have to differentiate between the Wolves of the Pacific version and the Uboat Missions Addon version... ?? :salute:

I actually just helped a friend with the steam uboat missions thing.

His steam Silent Hunter 4 version was still showing as 1.3 despite having purchased the uboat addon. Turns out it's not considered DLC and auto-installed with the main game, you have to specifically install it.

Those Whale Factory ships are actually quite strong!

3 hits at first attack (he didn’t even slow down) 2 more at second attack to sink it... :hmmm:

Was lucky because playing with dud on, none of my torp was dud.

ÉDIT:
For first time, encountered a bug after loading a save.
Unable to move the sonar needle. Completely stuck on the zero bearing.
Tried to exit game and reload again, but still stuck.
Will see after docking to base if solved...

RE ÉDIT:
After some time, and a next dive, all the command room needles were stuck too!
They were all set vertical, and didn’t move anymore until i docked.
Next mission, all was fine again...

(It was on a Porpoise class beginning 42 from Pearl)

Were they able to rectify the issue?

So if a person purchases the Silent Hunter package, Steam installs SH3 no problem, SH5 no problem, and SH4 Wolves of the Pacific no problem, but leaves SH4 Uboat Missions sitting in the queue, not installed, eh?... :salute:

I have no idea what's going on, it just doesn't make any sense.

It's updated to 1.5 now, but it's just not reading my mods. I try to re-do everything after work. This is getting frustrating. It just starts as vanilla.

:hmmm: Any "shelling out" to Windows or otherwise interrupting the game? Any incidents with higher TC and you encountered the enemy? Any depth charge attacks encountered that we can blame it in  ?

The whale ships are somewhat like the tankers when in-ballast, in that they have a bunch of chambers and can be difficult to sink. Converted to tankers later in the war, loaded with oil or especially fuel, they do blow up and sink rather easily. The "oil" in the game is maybe a bit too volatile though... :salute:

Where do you have Steam installed, and where is the Steam Library? They both default to installing in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\" folder, which makes it difficult for mods to "take". Let us know the path to your install, and how many hard drives and / or Primary Partitions you have on your computer. What make / model of computer do you have? Desktop / Laptop? :salute:

I only recently got back to sh4 so I am wondering when will I be able to change my AA/deck guns ? Its already May 16th 1943 and I still dont have any options, however I have no issues upgrading my radar sets.

No shelling out to windows, and i’m Playing TCX512 in patrol areas...otherwise to travel wide spaces i go X2048...
It was far after i encountered ennemy.

That’s ok with Whale ships, i was just surprised by their strength :)

I have a Lenovo touchscreen ideacenter desktop.

I also created a "new volume" E drive for all of my Steam games, and here's how the current SH4 folder looks:
