Your fix did not work for me until I made a second change.
The second change is the same change as the first but in the main game folder.
Main game folder > data > Menu > en_menu.txt

Hello Peter,

Did you deactivate the Mod in the JSGME before editing the file?

For the edit to take effect you would...

1. Deactivate the Mod
2. Edit the Mod
3. Reactivate the Mod

Otherwise, yes, you would have to edit both copies of the file. The one in the MOD folder and the one in the games data folder.

using the olc mod requires you to x2 all mast values when you make range readings even when the recognition manual does not state that :03:

ok so pretty much what your saying is after all the fresh install and confirming of the v15 file. start a career. go straight into patrol and dont come back until either 4 days out or september 1st ? then everything should be fine from that point on ? correct ?

No...if you are playing the "pre-war start" scenario, follow the orders... return to Stralsund not later than 2300 3 August as directed and transfer to the "Saltzwedel" (2nd) Flotilla in Wilhelmshaven. The game will move you to Wilhelmshaven and advance the calendar to 19 August and assign you to patrol grid AM18 to "await further orders." You should arrive in your patrol area and be there when the war starts on 1 September and you will get a B-Dienst contact report and new orders.

Alternatively, you can start your career in September and skip the whole training exercise. That also makes it possible to start in something other a Type VII. I started in a Type II "Canoe" and did a couple of patrols in the North Sea before I could "Fleet Up" to a Type VII.

If you check out my tutorials you will see that after the installing you have to go to the Naval Academy as this sets up your V15 save game folder in your documents.
Check out my Tutorial 13 this covers the first test mission.
Picture 9 not only shows you your orders but tells you when you can return to Stralsund.
This takes place about a month before the outbreak of war.
The time period depends on whether you have changed to randomized bunker time in SH3Commander rather than a set number of fixed days.
You can start your first test patrol at this time in a IIA or a VIIB by making the selection from SH3Commander.

Can i use Ahnenerbe's WideGui with this without issues?

Yes you can, but with one exception.
When it comes to the test missions disable Ahnenerbe's mod first and replace it with the default widescreen mod.
After transferring swap back over again before starting your new mission.
Ahnenerbe's mod is not compatible with the LSH3 transfer system.
