Ill say that this is one of my favorites- though i have more and more trouble finding it these days
Beer Name: Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat Brewer & Location: Leinenkugel's, Chippewa Falls Wisconsin http://www.theperfectlyhappyman.com/...nset-wheat.jpg Eye: in my opinion the perfect color for a wheat beer, golden hue Nose: aromatic head with heavy notes of citrus and berry Flavor: Clean, moist finish, very light on the palate Comments: perfect summer beer in my opinion, though available year round, i have had trouble finding it in the southern US though it can be found if you look hard enough. If i find it, I'll always buy it when and where available |
Latest addition to the beer emporium (garage).
Hops from the U.S. and New Zealand impart a peppery, lemon zest note to the Green Gecko, while pale and crystal malts add a rich biscuit character. http://i.imgur.com/Mohqc44.jpg Less than a pound per pint. |
I got a bottle of this. I'll let you know what it is like. My brother in law had a bottle. He said it was way over the line for stout beer. Too stout as put it.

Now "Guinness" have got into the 'golden ale' act, but although I was expecting great things I found this to be bland compared to the others, with no 'hoppiness' at all in the flavour; ABV 4.5 per cent.

From 'Aldi', ABV 5.7%
A Marvellous ale which tastes as though it's just been freshly pulled from the pump in a country inn; there's a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness with a caramel-yeast flavour which really lingers on after you've finished it. This ale has a full-bodied creamy character, as well as a delicious aroma... one I now drink regularly! http://i.imgur.com/MjoelvC.jpg |
^ Tried that one last weekend and must say it wasn't bad at all. Picked up half a dozen from the wife's place of work (M&S) yesterday, will take a couple of shots prior to consumption.

Yes, this one and the "Wild Hare" are what I am mostly drinking right now.

Fancied a lager with my chinese curry after work last night so tried this. I think I've had it before but can't remember for sure.

From the Springhead Brewery "in the heart of Robin Hood Country", I found myself savouring every mouthful of this... it tastes at first so much of honey, then follows through with the real-ale lover's delicate bitterness... then honey-sweet again... then bitter. A beautiful 'India Pale Ale' which reminds me of the "Wild Hare" earlier, but it's even better (and stronger at 5.5%). Moira got it from ASDA. |

"Butty Bach"
Have to report some disappointment with this. Another 'golden ale', it at first tastes honeyed, like the Wild Hare and Roaring Meg, but soon you realise it's rather watery. Moira said the same after tasting it (I didn't give her much) and we concluded it's a beer with which to wash down a nice country meal.
"Butty Bach" is Welsh for "little friend" they say on the label, although my limited Welsh would sooner translate this as "Little dear one" (£1.99 from Co-op stores) http://i.imgur.com/wa4cxc3.jpg ABV 4.5% http://i.imgur.com/xjkCH9B.jpg (looks good in a jug, though) |
One of the finest lagers I've tasted this year, good to go with just about anything you're eating.

Tonight will be an Indian meal and a half dozen or so of these little fellas.
http://i.imgur.com/645UGg9.jpg It pours dark brown with a minimal head. The aroma is mild but it offers notes of caramel and some forest fruit. The taste is well balanced but the malts definitely have the upper hand. The sweetness that comes through however is fairly complex, with lots of fruitiness and caramel hints. One of the tastiest English Pale Ales I've had in a fairly long time. |
(Like it's going to even touch the sides :har:)

^ Two down and four or more to go :O:
