I pre-ordered SH4 the very day it became available for pre-ordering here in Finland. I also updated my computer just to be SH4-ready.

I agree that the issues discussed here need to be solved; having been disappointed with the bugs I uninstalled the game, choosing to wait for a working version.

Since I like to play with full realism, but don't have the hours required, checking and testing all the mods just to make the game functions properly is unfortunately not the thing for me.

The game has great potential, though. Kinda takes me back to the (very) old times when I just had to have a Commodore 64 to play the legendary Silent Service:88).

I fully concur wuth Neal's sentiments.
Althiugh I've purchased a copy, I've held off installing it until such time as the game approaches a playable state, which to me is a level of stability similar to that of SH3 when it was first released.

Damage reporting and control is a glaring omission from the critial list IMO.

The fact that this thread exists makes me nervous.

Game sure is pretty right now, and the radio + gramophone is a nice combo, so cruising around the ocean looking at the sights and listening to the music is a real joy!

Shame you can't really play any GAME with it, though, as the issue with the stopwatch, ship ID book bugs, imperial/metric issues, etc make actually ATTACKING anything just about impossible.

To whom it may concern at UBI soft. I've purchased all the Silent Hunter series and haven't even played my copy of SHIII yet :oops:! I would have bought SHIV just to add to my collection for the day I finally have a PC that will play it, but alas..........I refuse to buy 1/2 of something and won't even consider buying it until my fellow Sub Skipper brethren are satisfied with the game play/adequate patch & playability! Who ever gave ye shore leave at camp UBI soft deserves the cat o' nine tails for your unfinished endeavor. Ahoy..............B:arrgh!:

Petition signed. I stoped playing SH4 about a week after patch 1.2 was released since i felt that it didn't quite still measure up. Sad since it has the potential to be just about the only game on my HDD...

We need patch 1.3!!!!

I want to start playing this game on 100% realism, but with the bugs and glitches it is making it difficult.

Yes, additional patches are required.
I purchased 2 copies of SHIV, both of them directly from the UBI store. I did my part, now let's see if UBI will do theirs.
