UKW! and ATI VGAs
 

Got information about some ATIs and running UKW!:

ATI X850 Pro: O.K.

ATI X1950 Pro: black sea and sky, O.K. after switching off Pixelshader with ATI Tray Tool.

ATI 3850: O.K.

The textures ARE the same, it probably depends on some changes done in "weather.txt".

Ref UKW problem with weather.txt
 

At first I was also getting the black sky with UKW, but I was using a Nvida card.

I looked at the stock weather .txt and Der Schmutt(great Mod!) weather txt and

found that he had change all the texture = volumeSky from .tga to .dds. I change them back and it work fine for my card. I hope this will help with ATI.card

In my stock game (German copy) the volumeSky textures are all .dds and in fact, I did not change them.
So this might be it.

I to want to report that renaming your "volumesky.dds" files inside your new "Weather.txt" file back to "volumesky.tga" cured my black sky problem.

If you wil notice, the SOF "volumesky" files are ".dds" files, but the original SOF "Weather.txt" file still refers to them as "volumesky.tga" files. As a result, changing them back to ".tga" files in your "Weather.txt" file allows them be be read as originally intended.

I've changed from dds to tga and now it's all Ok; I'm an Ati user.

Hopefuly with this "Weather.txt" file fix, DS will upgrade his UKW mod so everybody can use it without problems. :up: :up: :up:

I have an ATI 850xt and I needed the hot fix to cure the black sky and the ATI tray tool to set the shaders for 2.0. The tray tool fixed regular hard crashes that forced reboots. Ran it for hours in external view without a problem where before it wouldn't have lasted 15 minutes.

Disappeared UKW! mod
 

Hi everybody,

after a long time gone I'm back again now, had some action at my work and take care of my family.
Somehow both versions of the UKW! mod have disappeared from filefront.com. Don't know why and how, by the moment I'm into uploading again, new links will be posted soon.

Can't Find UKW!v1.0ENG.exe.
 

THis sounds like ag reat add on, but I can not find the exe file above. At the web site is only the sound and voice mod, sky fix and ship mod for speed. THere was no exe file. Is this somewhere else?
