The more the merrier, just avoid being near me! I'm sure that'd be Raptor's advice

But then, he should have rolled on time! :D

Raptor1 09-20-11 08:31 AM

Nah, being near you is fine, just as long as one is trailing and has his AA missiles ready...

I think you'll find guns and mavericks work too.

I like to be different, I don't use any weapons against other aircraft other than my airframe! :D

Awesome! :yeah: Turns out you guys start the mission @ 4pm my time (assuming I did the conversion right.. GMT -> CST, central US), which I'll still be at work :damn:. I'll still try to log on and see if you guys are playing, should be sometime after 6pm my time (23:00+ GMT).

Herr-Berbunch 09-20-11 10:33 AM

I don't usually get online until gone 10pm local (currently GMT+1, returns to GMT last Sunday in October) and the finish is anywhere between 11 and 1ish. The chances are if you joined at 11pm and we were wrapping up we'd stick around for a bit longer. Or I may be being presumptuous about Arc and his server, but I think not. :D

My online start times should be earlier now, as the wife's back at school (teacher, not a pupil) and is knackered and goes to bed earlier. :yeah::yeah::yeah:

...which means...

...more time for crashing!

CrowSHV 09-20-11 11:16 AM

Well I hope I can get on before you guys are even close to calling it quits, but we'll see. Worst case, I'll just hang out & chit chat.

CrowSHV 09-22-11 06:32 PM

Dang, apparently I did my 'time conversion' wrong. By the time you guys quit playing, I get home from work. :wah: Well, I've always wanted to move out of the US....:hmmm:

Sorry, wan't the most eventful night for me either, firstly a friendly-fire* issue :stare:, then two nosegear issues and a random avionics failure before I'd even got off the ground for the second time!

Oh, and then when I finally got going, I decided to follow the railway all the way to the airfield at Sukhumi - it's not helpful when the GCAS alert covers up the map!!! :damn:

* By friendly I mean purely revengeful!

Sorry, but vengeance had to be exacted, and also you nearly killed me on the runway again.

After that my plane has also suffered some sabotage, my engines decided that they don't like being turned on that much. I say we purge the whole ground crew... :shifty:

Herr-Berbunch 09-23-11 06:33 AM

You joined the runway after me and again you had plenty of time to go, I went to the left of you and things got a bit laggy - your ac moved towards me and then back again in an instant! I think it was lag, and not you trying to instigate a crash because after I'd taken off I watch you and it was still jumping around a bit.

Your weapons still worked ok! :stare: :03:

To be fair to the ground crew - I think they are just overworked, can't think why :yeah:

How to switch oin the nav and pos lights, and the formation lights? I have electricity established, and use the lights panel on the back right side to successfully manipulate the cockpit lights and instrument lights, however switching on formation lights results in no lights at all, and the pos lights switch may be in flash or steady position, but the anti-collision lights switch is springloaded and always springs back to off.

I so far have never had any red, green or white lights, blinking or steady!? Is there any other switch I miss?

edit: there is a second Pinky swsitch mentioned on the throttle, but I cannot click any button on the throttle at all. Is this the direction to look at for a solution? the pinky on the stick only functions because I left the 4 major buttons unprogrammed in their default mode (I use CH Fighterstick and ProThrottle).

Arclight 09-26-11 05:07 PM

Use the pinky switch, it controls external lighting. Part of the HOTAS controls, middle postion by default which is OFF, others being "default external" and "by panel".
