Description
This is the Das Boot Sound Mod upgraded to work with Silent Hunter 4. I had to use my entire SH3 Sound folder so the non-DBSM files would play with German voices. The bad news is I got lazy, so all nine folders contain the same voice set. Sorry, but I don't care about that part. Again, this is mostly not my work. The brilliant original DBSM was made for SH2 was made by the dedicated and talented team of DJ Funk, Lafeeverted, Stormfly and McBeck. I just translated it to SH4 as best I could. Don't be tempted to think they just cut sounds from the movie and called it good. A huge amount of editing was required to bring out certain sounds, and it took them more hours than you can imagine (unless you're a modder, of course - then you know what it's like). I included Ktl_Kurtz's wonderful Torpedo RepeatOrders Mod v1.02, just because it adds so much to the original. There is one thing I wish was better: there was a wonderful 'Surface' routine in the original that played when the boat broke the surface, ending with the reporter asking "Mann auf Brucke?" I couldn't use it in SH3, because they didn't have a surface routine sound file. SH4 does, but it's tied in with the surface order, so it's perfect if you order "Surface" from periscope depth, but a little silly if you do it at 100 meters. Too bad; I like it. The hardest part for me was going through every single file to make sure there were no residual American voices. If you find out I missed one let me know. I'll fix it. Also, this thing is big, so it will take quite a few minutes to load into JSGME. But it's worth it. Happy Hunting; 'Sailor Steve' Bradfield April 20, 2009

Sailor Steve 11-30-09 at 03:04 PM	The original DBSM for SH2 used the crew cheering for 'Torpedo Impact', and Hinrich shouting "Wasserbomb" for 'Depth Charges'. I got tired of hearing them so I took them out. They are in a separate folder so you can add them back in. This is all in the readme.
col_Kurtz 09-20-09 at 11:31 AM	Some files are empty, no sounds... For example: ChE_P_Torpedo_impact.ogg. I found these files in all 9. folders, but are empty Any idea for that problem? And one think... When is quite, I can hear some strange sound, just like in the loop, it`s like machine working, but in honestly I can recognize this sound, I`m not a submariner
