Just completed my 1st patrol and sunk 5 ships (about 16000 tons) which were all recorded in my logbook. But when I ended the patrol SH3 said I didn't sink a single ship!!!!
I've heard that things like that occur with SH3 but I thought that the ships one has sunk won't appear in the logbook.:damn::down::hmm:

I've never had any problems with that occurring, although once I lost my medalsbut that was because I had a corrupted #30 mission cause the computer crashed. Are you using SH3 Commander with it? Have you upgraded the vanilla version to version 1.4?

Yep, I use SH3 Commander and I've upgraded the game to 1.04. Does that matter?

Yes tis a cr*p bug
Doesnt affect everybody and its pretty much first patrol only
Did you upgrade the boat before your first patrol ?

No I didn't because I know of that bug. I used SH3 Commander before and I never had the problem I have right now.

I upgraded my TGW prior to first patrol and the first patrol seems to be working fine, so far. ;) Hope I don't run into any problems.
Oh, yea, in TGW, I got my old sub "U-51" back, great:up:

I've had this bug a number of times--and yes, I know not to upgrade your sub before patrol 1. I've been using long range boats lately and I found it annoying not knowing if my first patrol tonnage would be recorded.

My solution was to always start the 1st patrol and immediately abort it. Then, using SH3 commander, set time in base at 1 day. So, in a sense, I start my careers on patrol 2 on the same day I would have started Patrol 1. Haven't had the problem since.

Good workaround:up:

Would the same happen if you made a pit stop in a friendly port before going of to your first patrol?

Strange, I almost always upgrade my sub before the 1st patrol (if possible) and I never had this bug. Does anyone know under what circumstances this bug occurs? Just out of curiosity...

No its a random thing
I have upgraded before first patrol also and no problems

I generally treat the first patrol as a shakedown cruise now then upgrade and add more sailors

Just in case

Think I would be more than a bit pissed if I hit a TF and sunk a couple of big ones just to get no credit :damn:

Likewise. As a humble new Lt, I take the boat out, do some test dives and basically just put my new boat through her paces whilst "getting to know the crew".

Then I return to base just in time to get my promotion to ObLt. :)

Patrol 2 is when the fun begins...

(BTW, I've *never* experienced this bug, but then again, I never use the game's save functions which may be one reason why?)

SH3 commander is a great tool that lets you change several things with SHIII, like wave-height and reloading times on the deck and aircraft guns. It also lets you set up careers and managing these, + much more! A must have!

Comander is a seperate progam which lets you manage your crew, among other things. SH3 Gen is also a separate programs which permits you to generate Intelligence Reports once you've left port. SH3 Weather is also a separate program although I haven't installed it yet, so I'm just not too sure what it does.

Commander and Gen are like the special types of wrenches for fixing your car. :D They get you where no "person" has gone before. (Being polically correct). :)

I think if you dock too close to your starting point, like the same sub pen that you left in, it will do this. Always dock a little away from port.

Had this happen to me once. Can't remember where I read it, but went looking after I happened to me.

It's got to do with toilet-paper running out and Bernard using whatever's available - in this case your patrol logs.

No documentation of kills=No renown.

My solution was to always start the 1st patrol and immediately abort it. Then, using SH3 commander, set time in base at 1 day. So, in a sense, I start my careers on patrol 2 on the same day I would have started Patrol 1. Haven't had the problem since.Good idea. I'll try that.

Dantenoc: In response to the question if this would work if you went to another axis base.

Yes, it would work, however, you would loose your patrol grid. So, it works depending on what you want. I did forget to mention that I input the original patrol grid with SH commador as well. Whatever--the whole point is to avoid the 1st patrol and however you do that seems to get rid of the lost tonnage bug.

Jaesen. I just started a first mission using TGW1.1a. and am still on the first mission (just started it - I could not get CMDR to connect to TGW to start the mission) I need to have SH3 CMDR 2.5 connect to it so that I can generate my crew list and personnel files. I have no problem having CMDR connecting with the vanilla SH3. I know there are supposed to be two files in "My Documents" Personnel Files and SH3 which is the career files. However, I have problems connecting to TGW1.1a to generate personnel Files. I know I have to rename the SH3 career files with the appropriate files from TGW. What else should I be doing in order to connect to TGW to generate the personnel Files?

Edit: Monday Oct 16: Tried to get CMDR to build crew files but no luck.

Yes, there was a very recent update, posted just a few hours ago.

They said "it'll be done when it's done". :)

I have also experienced the no credit for sunk ships bug, but I was lucky in that I had saved just before docking back at base so to get round the problem I just reloaded my pre-dock save and docked again and my credit was there.

I ussualy don't get any sinkings on my first patrol, so I haven't came near the problem.

i get this problem all the time on 1st patrols, the trick is to save just before you dock (or return) to base, and when the patrol ends and says you sunk 0 tonnes just reload that last save and end the patrol again and this time your tonnage will be shown, works every time for me.
