Is multiplayer just sub vs sub?

I tried that last night and thought it was real lame I can't see anything or even tell which boat is mine. I zoom in my map and with all the compases around every boat it is useless. Is ther more to multiplayer than that? If not its no problem the single player is awsome.

Its Easy

pick an special headin (North for example) look on the nav map again and the the compass showing that the headins pointing north is urs

but also...Online can be lame though if you play with those Torpedo spamming lunetics...they fire acoustics and beats me if not a couple of them hits ur sub.
