Convoy map updates

Repeated posts annoy me as much as anyone, so I apologize about this in advance. After relentless searching and futile results I am resorting to this post.

I would like to start a mission with a radio message containing a recon convoy report. This report would subsequently have a corresponding map mark. This of course is to facilitate the calculation of an intercept course.

Now, I know it can be done in the campaign and the editor was used to build the campaign missions, right? So one would think that a user can repeat this process. Hmm, or I am just being hopeful.

Anyhow, if I cant make map marks or whatever they are called, anybody have a workaround or a another way to create the same scenario?
