I think he went down to recover some items for his wifes mom from a destroyed U-boat and he got mad at people who are cheating when they play SHIII... even though there are no cheats unless you count the realism settings in which if he means that that means hes flaming people who dont play on 100% realism

''IF'' he is :shifty: flaming about How people play the game is something I can not agree on

Not all people on the forum has knowledge or the skill to Set up an torpedo and make the ship sink on an Realistic way.
Or the skill to intercept Radio contacts like they did in the Real Times.

and yes I Respect the men lost at sea, but I dont feel sorry for them that I can Automatic aim Torpedo's by just clicking on LOCK and Fire whenever I feel like changing that in my Realism options

about the game its an Simulator
But! the creators have thought about the people that dont have the amount of knowledge about handling computer or how the stuff worked in U boats like in real.

ps. *IF* factor! look left up

Yeah, he dived on a wrecked sub. Recovered articles belonging to a relation. What he saw was nothing short of horrific.
And yes, some guys alter certain cfg files etc and give themselves limmitless torpedoes, ammo, speeds of around 40 - 50 kts submerged and the list goes on. Well it's good they know how to do this, but it is cheating. Anyone who thinks it is ok should consider buying a console game, thats my opinion anyway.
Von, thanks for posting this thread, it's good to be reminded that no matter how realistic we want it, at least we will not die from it - as in war, thousands did

:hmm: Funny how someone who obviously has so little respect for others seemingly makes a demand for it. :nope:

What is the situation with sunken subs, is it legal to dive on them or are they protected in some way :hmm:

This should have been a terrifying experience.

I mean, we`re in a nice room playing around with a computer game. Imagine those trapped young fellas who had to wait until the oxygen ran out 200 m below the surface and no chances of rescue...

The lucky ones were those who died instantly.

Or being trapped in a compartment as the boat plunges to Crush Depth............

Von, I understand that you are maybe overwhelmed by the feelings because of what you´ve seen down there but: thats no reason to post such a "cheaters are lame" stuff.

Dont get me wrong, I hate cheaters (MP!) but to talk about the bloody reality in the same text with cheaters...is just strange. One thing hasnt anything to do with the other... you see?

:-? O my God,

these sort of topics asks for it

Never compare things on ur computer with real life.
even if you play 100% Realism and some Realism mods your still cheating

you're cheating Death, you just respawn in an new boat an new crew.

now lets see....

In real life War is Sh!t
Its an horrific experience that changes the lives of the survivors
we respect what they do, and what they did for us.
but the soldiers know the risk very well...they could die. or badly injured for the rest of his life.

Computer Games is Fun/entertaining
Simulations are peoples favorite I think,
they give you a sort of thrill of how things go in real life.
We dont have any risks, we play.

Now, Cheaters, why worry about someone who is manipulating the game so he can win easily, if it satisfact him ok let him be.
but if you give them attention by blaming them for not showing respect to the men lost at sea, you just give him an reason to screw you even harder by cheating more and more. Ignore the lousy bums and continue playing.

I am not sure but I do "think" any sunken vessle is protected by international marine law .... he admits he did a " .... NO NO ..." by diving into a " war grave " therefore he has become a grave robber and a dis-respecter of the memories of the people on board ... A lame excuse of retrieving "items" for a certain person does not cut it ... I am sure there are thousands of 'relatives' of the USS Arzonia and a few other ship graves thatwould be over joyed to "get" something from them... but ..........

Was this a dive on a WWII German U-Boat? or a post war Russian? British??

If I had just dived a sub wreck I don't think my first thought would be to come on a forum and tell people to play SHIII in 100% realism. Computer games would be the furtherest thing from my mind. What a strange post.

Slow N EZ hit it right on the money. Though I dont know about International Law, they should all rest in peace with their shipmates.

Hey VON if your so good at diving well then perhaps you can tutor us all on how to play SH3. We could use a man of experience like you to tell us how its done (nyuk nyuk yea right).

A grave-robber and looter of war relics has absolutely no right to lecture others on having the proper respect for those who died.

Nothing to be gained by leaving this open.

Time to let it die.
