"The cylindrical 122mm periscope of the U 1 at a high speed was more stealthy than the 40mm head featured on a later 150mm periscope"

Is this true?I would have thought the smaller periscope was more stealthy.

Hi Folks!

Heeeeey, Kaptain curva zo ti robish ?

Haven't heared from you for so long!

What's your situation ? Have you some more room now ?

Deamon,
1) have you got any detailed photos/drawings of any of WW1 german periscopes (seen from the inside ofcourse)?
1a) photo of upper part of it (peri-eye)?

Yes :D

But only few. Photos also only few. But not all of this photos and drawings are from WWI subs. Some are from experimental peris and peris from export boats that were not used in the german navy. How comes that you have suddenly interest in WWI peris ?

And else are developeing something again ?

2) Any detailed instruction on how to use this thing (description of controls, switches)? (as seen on http://www.maritime.org/fleetsub/pscope/index.htm ).

Instructions ? No. At least not manual like, like in your link above. You won't find any manuals about such stuff for WWI german u-boats. I also have only few such manuals but mainly for engines and torpedosystems.

But they were usualy very simple no big manuals needed. I have only snippets from here and there. You will also not find anything in company archives cose the russkies stole it after the war. Russia is where you have to look for that stuff ;)

So whats currently going on with project ?
You still have access to the dev forum ;)

Check in there. Well we have a definite coop with the SL team now. Progressing slowly. The engine question turns out to be even more difficult. A new modelar, new models. Refined design and road map and U 1 is more complete now also advances on U31/35. Health doing better. Learned alot more :)

We had a great new additon to our team in Seeteufel but he was then suddenly MIA :(

Cheers,
Deamon

dont worry im not your competitor. im just after reading of 2 WW1 books (written by kpt Marschall and Max Valentiner). It seems that WW1 period is very interesting. About development I dont want to say anything. Lets say that I want to test something and thats way i need peri-materials.

You are nuts Kpt! I seriously hope for you that you know what you do. Did you made an marriage contract at least ?

And will your marriage sustain the long absence during the sea patrols ? Or are not going to sea anymore ?

Hey you read WWI books !? :D Whats happened ?

Are this book in polish ? I have the book from Valentiner too but who is kpt Marschall ? What is the title of the book ?

Have you tried Riders of the Deep ?

It seems that WW1 period is very interesting.

And i'm woundering how long the majority will need to notice it. It's a forgotten treasure. A fresh new alternative to the WWII option.

About development I dont want to say anything. Lets say that I want to test something and thats way i need peri-materials.
Do you want to test it in OGRE ?

Waiting impatiently for screenshots.
The first can be found in the dev forum. Check in and say something.
