Hi there.
It's rather "general" question.
I'm making a mission located in Cuban area. It's about russian trawler smuggling missile heads to Cuba. What would be a reasonable Cuban border water line?

I just need something like that , to decide, when the platforms cross the border , and might be attacked by russian forces.

I thought the international waters line started at 10 miles from the coast? :hmm:

Territorial water line is 12 nm. (measured from the low waterline IIRC) :hmm:
Exclusive economical zone is 200 nm.

The above numbers work most of the time, but in some cases countries have treaties about who owns what patch of ocean. The base for that 12nm line is a ideal coastline, ie lots of small bays and similar things are just put in line to get a "straight" coast. Best example for those exception is the North Sea with not enough ocean to go around for all the countries around it.

On top of that 12nm limit I think there was another 3nm line, tho I don't have the faintest what that was about, I just vaguely remember that number and that it has some significance.

look at this.

I think the 3nm limit is the old limit.
