I have a question on the SH3 Commander rollback option.
If I perform a rollback so I can enable a new mod, how do I enable the SH3 commander mods again? Do they load each time I start SHIII using SH3 Commander?
TIA
Yes, each time you press the 'start SHIII' button in Commander, it will automatically apply all the changes to the game. :)

Here's a question, perhaps a "Duh..." question.
Do you have to run Commander in order for mods to work?

No. Commander is a utility/too/mod all in one that lets you do a lot of different things. It can be used to change settings included in some mods (wave height, gun reload times), but mostly it does a lot of cool stuff all by itself, and won't affect any mods unless you ask it to.

Thanks Sailor Steve. I've installed the Harbor Traffic mod and haven't seen anything yet. Probably because I haven't been into any harbors yet huh...

Uh, yeah, I do mean "enemy" harbors. When I left Lorient on my last patrol I was the only floating entity around...

uninstall the HT mod, roll back SH commander and reinstall the mod.
if you don't roll back before you install HT SH commander will overwrite some of the files the next time you start it up, disabling the mod.

What if I don't use Commander? I haven't been, and someone else said the mods should still work.

yeah it works without sh commander.
if you're not using it not sure why you're not seeing ships in friendly harbors unless you are overwriting it a file with another mod.

I just took my type VIIb on a one way "adventure" to New York and did find ships in the harbor - all merchant and no navy at all. Not sure what I would have found had I not had the mod installed. This is early '41 though.
I guess this was like the book "Red Star Rogue" only it would be "Swastika Rogue"... :smug:
I know this will not set well with the "100%'ers" or "full emersion" folks, but I was getting antsie about getting a type IX and couldn't wait. Of course I saved my game right where I made the decision to "forget the orders" and head east. Now I'm back to where I saved the game and doing what I'm supposed to be doing - obeying orders! :shifty:

If you were using RUB, which includes something called the 'Ops Mod', you should see many naval units there. I'm sure Der Teddy Bar's new NYGM has all that as well. Just from looking at the map I wouldn't dream of trying New York.

Not using RUB - as of yet anyway. Yeah, I was a bit shocked that there was no one around except merchants. Sunk as many as I could using torps, deck gun, and even the AA guns. Command sent message saying "good job" and come on home.
Kinda cool sneaking into NY harbor and sinking stuff. Finally just surfaced when I realized there was no threat.
BTW Sailor Steve, I drive a truck between Reno and Salt Lake three times a week. Hell, I might even pass right by you in the rush hour traffic - :yep:

Probably not, as I currently don't own a car.
PM or email me next time you're in town. I'd love to get together with another subsimmer for lunch.
