With the diving speed so reduce it impossible to evade torpedoes. I have put myself in the position several times the last few days running V1.03 beta and the dive rate is to slow. You can override rudder but can do nothing with planes. I have tried everything I can do to speed up the dive rate and nothing seems to work.
I believe this is a good version with the exception of diving rate and towed array dployment and retrieving. It is taking a good 6-7 monutes to do either, but I have only been using the US Boats.
But with these two problems we were almost better off with 1.01.

Everyone knows about these things! And this is a BETA patch! So sit tight and wait...

yeah me and savage wolf were doing MP on a 688i took at least 4 mins from surface to 60 feet when you should be at least 500feet in that time (full power full trim)

Quick way to dive...flank and full rudder....though you risk crashing too.

Master Chief,

Nuc or Coner?

I'm a former IC2(SS) Coner myself.

The current setup of DW to more accurately reflect, at least US subs capabilities- needs to have Towed Arrays deploy faster, and the boats dive faster.

I think Hutch has figured out the dive rate issue (along with numerous others) but the TA deployment is a new one... We'll take a look.

That is good news.

I wonder though if we could ever get manual control of the dive planes like we do with the rudder, and for joystick support.

Now that would be cool.

What about high speed turns? Are they still losing attitude control, spinning out, going backwards, or whatever the heck is going on? If the physics model is "right" on this, will we get automatic dive plane adjustment and new rudder hotkeys to make up the difference? Being able to turn is kinda important when there are torpedoes headed your way, dialing in a new course never turns the boat quickly enough...

I forsee a "autocrew" feature for those noobs. ;)

Hi,

in that same order, what about the FFG loosing so much speed on turns?

Thanks

:hmm: I wonder how much effort it would be to modify a vehicle "racing" controller.............. :rotfl:

Seriously, the joystick support thing for boat driving would be an interesting option.

Keep in mind adding any kind of new options requires reconstructing the menu interface system, which is actually a massive pain in the ass. :88) :damn:

Well, I'm not too concerned about how the fix is implemented, just that it is implemented. Torpedo evasion is near and dear to my heart, and if we can't use the rudder, and if dialing in a course is too slow to be effective, then what am I supposed to do? Surface and abandon ship at the first sign of a TIW?

Depends on if I am wireguiding it or not... :|\

Diving Wind I am fully aware that 1.03 is a beta, I also assumed that beings we were being asked what we thought that they would want feed back, I am not compalining merely trying to assist is my small way.

Neptunas Rex;
I was a Nuke for ever then finally they changed the rules and I got to be a COB, after Rickover went the to great Reactor in the sky.
Nuke or coner I loved the Navy and the Boats, I wish I could do it all over again.
I had Recruiting duty in Sandusky Ohio back in the 60s, I had just made Chief. I was single and all I can say is it   :arrgh!:
Now that I would for sure do again!!!!

Sound's Good to me "He He"
DW is a very good Sim, I am sure SCS will fix things with the next
patch In the mean time I just try to run Cold war mission's and stay
away from " Torps in water" Never had been able to escape them with
speed and CM's
Regards
Lane :D

Just one thing I would like to see in DW. Is a wake for the mast and
antenna's. Am I wrong but seems there was a periscope wake in
SC? I miss that, Don't have SC Loaded my PC.
