Hi guys, I have just finished a patrol off Norway, quite successful, 7 ships for 13,000 tons. Last vessell was a fishing boat, too roughto use the deck gun, so i sent a contact report, and a patrol report. When i went to the messages view, I could not see them, only old messages, resent them twice more with the same results. Also I dont have a option for requesting new orders, time is 1940
Any ideas on this one ?

Yeah, there is no new orders button that I have managed to find.
I usually send messages by clicking on the radio man icon. Seems to pop up with a "message sent" and the message then appears in the log.

Request new orders is one of those features listed in the manual but left out of the game.

Did that, got a message in the task bar at the bottom of the screen say message sent, but nothing when I hit "m" and checked them, just old ones, I was hoping to get the 2 FW200's that had passed over me earlier to come and attack the fishing vessal as I had no fish left, and could not man the deck gun due to the sea state.

My experience with the send contact report is that it will do nothing unless its a convoy. If you report a visual sighting of a convoy, it will show up in the log..... even if you are attacking a ship that you've previously left dead in the water. It will just say Convoy, heading (whatever direction the ship is facing) speed 0 knots.
It doesn't seem to do anything with single ships.
Sending patrol reports should show up in the log though, usually takes 60mins or so to get a reply...... of course you need to be surfaced to receive it.

... and I think you have to wait a several hours between each new message.
I usually send messages directly from the radiolog (M). Then you will see instantly if the message was sent or not.
And remember that if you send a message, there is a chance that Allied aircraft will come looking for you! :o
